REAL PROPERTY;ACCEPTINGDEEDAND REQUESTING
TAX EXEMPTION ON PROPERTY LOCATED AT 5946 SOUTH
DIXIE HIGHWAY,ACQUIRED BY THE CITY OF SOUTH
MIAMI,FLORIDA,FOR PUBLIC USE;PROVIDING AN
EFFECTIVE DATE.
WHEREAS,onMarch7,2001aquit-claimdeedwas recorded conveying
tothe City of South Miami the following described property:
A tract of land in portion of Lots 17 and 18,of "DORN'S
SUBDIVISION,"according tothe Plat thereof,as recorded in Plat
Book 3,at Page 199,of thePublicRecords of Miami-Dade County,
Florida,being more particularly described as follows:
Commencing atthe Northwest corner of said Lot 17;thence
S.44°13'23"E.,along the Northeasterly line of said Lot 17,fora
distance of 12.41 feet toa point onthe Southeasterly Right -of-Way
line of State Road 5,as per State of Florida,State Road Department
Right-of-Way Map Section No.87030-2209,Sheet 2 of 6;thence
S.45°00'13"W.,along the last described Right-of-Way line,for a
distance of 12.14 feettothe Point of Beginning of the hereinafter
described tract of land;thence continue S.45°00'13"W.for 32.12
feet;thence S.45°46'37"W.for 4.37 feet;thence N.85°15'40"E.,
along the Northerly Right-of-Way line of S.W.73rd Street as per
State of Florida,State Road Department Right-of-Way Map Section
No.87030-2209,Sheet 2 of 6,for a distance of 44.62 feet to a Point
of Cusp witha tangent curve concave totheEast;thence
Northwesterly and Northerly alongthearc of a circular curve tothe
right,having aradius of 17.72feet,acentralangle of 109°10'39",a
chord distance of 28.88 feet and a chord bearing of N.40°09,01"E.
foranarc distance of 33.76 feettothe Point of Beginning.
All of the above land situated,lying and being in the City of South
Miami,Miami-Dade County,Florida and containing 373.32 square
feet and/or 0.007 acres more or less.
Additions shown by underlining and deletions shown by ovorstriking.
WHEREAS,the City Commission of the City of South Miami desires to
accept thedeed,to dedicate the property topublicuseandto obtain an exemption
fromad valorem taxation forthe property.
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED BY THE MAYOR AND CITY
COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF SOUTH MIAMI,FLORIDA;
Section 1.The City of SouthMiami accepts delivery and recordation of
the quit-claim deed forthe above-described property.The property shall be
dedicated to public use.A true copy of the recorded deed and form DR-219 are
attached to this resolution.
Section 2.The City of South Miami requests exemption from ad
valorem taxes as of thedate of recording thedeed,pursuant to Florida Statutes,
Section 196.28.
Section 3.A certified copy of this resolution shallbe recorded among
the public records for Miami-Dade County and transmitted tothe Miami-Dade
Tax Assessor and its Tax Collector.
Section 4.This resolution shall take effect immediately upon approval.
