A RESOLUTION OF THE MAYOR AND CITY COMMISSION
OFTHECITYOFSOUTH MIAMI,FLORIDA,RELATING TO
REALPROPERTY;ACCEPTINGDEEDANDREQUESTING
TAX EXEMPTION ON A PORTION OF PROPERTY LOCATED
AT 5796 SUNSET DRIVE,ACQUIRED BY THE CITY OF
SOUTH MIAMI,FLORIDA,FOR PUBLIC USE;PROVIDING
AN EFFECTIVE DATE.
WHEREAS,onJanuary2,2001,thepropertyowner recorded aright-of-
waydeed conveying totheCity of SouthMiamithefollowing described property:
The West five (5)feet of Lot 10,lessthe North 30 feet,of W.A.
LARKIN'S SUBDIVISION,according tothe Plat thereof,as
recorded in Plat Book 3,at Page 198,of the Public Records of
Miami-Dade County,Florida.
WHEREAS,the City Commission of the City of South Miami desires to
accept the deed,to dedicate the property to public useandto obtain an exemption
from ad valorem taxation for the property.
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED BY THE MAYOR AND CITY
COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF SOUTH MIAMI,FLORIDA;
Section 1.The City of South Miami accepts delivery and recordation of
the right-of-way deedforthe above-described property.The property shallbe
dedicated to public useasaright-of-way.Atruecopy of the recorded deedand
form DR-219 are attached to this resolution.
Section 2.The City of South Miami requests exemption from ad
valorem taxes as of the date of recording thedeed,pursuant to Florida Statutes,
Section 196.28.
Section 3.A certified copy of thisresolutionshallbe recorded among
thepublicrecordsforMiami-DadeCountyandtransmittedtotheMiami-Dade
Tax Assessor and its Tax Collector.
Section 4.This resolution shalltake effect immediately upon approval.
