No. 124-00-11017Resolution No.124-00-11017 A RESOLUTION OF THE MAYOR AND CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF SOUTH MAIMI,FLORIDA,AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO ENTER INTO A CONTRACT WITH LEADEX CORPORATION,FOR ASPHALT WORK TO BE DONE AT MARSHALL WILLIAMSON PARK DUE TO EROSION THAT HAS CAUSED EXTENSIVE PROBLEMS ON THE SIDEWALKS AND RELEASING FUNDS FROM ACCOUNT 001.0000.131.1440,"MARSHALL WILLIAMSON PARK IMPROVEMENT/SAFETY GRANT. WHEREAS,pursuant to Article III,Section 5,H,of theCity Charter requires bidsbeobtainedforservicesandorpurchases of itemsover$5,000.00;and WHEREAS,Marshall Williamson Parkhas developed extreme erosion within the sidewalk area causing safety concerns;and WHEREAS,thecost includes removaland disposing of old sidewalks and preparingnewconcretewalkareaincludingclearing,grubbing,formingandfinishing; and WHEREAS,Three bidswere obtained bytheCity of South Miami Parks & Recreation Department for sidewalk work.The following arethebidsthatwerereceived: Leadex Corporation Artistic Concrete of Florida R.B.Concrete $8,400.00 $13,125.00 $16,950.00 WHEREAS,thisprojectwillaestheticallyenhancethepark,provideforsafer surroundings for walking,strolling and jugging. NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED BY THE MAYOR AND CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF SOUTH MIAMI,FLORIDA: Section 1.ThatapurchaseorderbeawardedtoLeadexCorporation,forthe amount of $8,400.00forcorrectingtheerodedsidewalksatMarshallWilliamsonPark Section 2.This resolution shalltake effect immediately upon approval. BACKGROUND The proposed sidewalk work,ata cost of $8,400.00 will complete the renovation of Marshall Williamson Park.It will enhance the re development of the parkalongwith the new amenities and new Tot Lot.
