No. 105-00-10998RESOLUTION NO.105-00-10998 A RESOLUTION OF THE MAYOR AND CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF SOUTH MIAMI,FLORIDA,RELATING TO PARKING POLICIES, LIMITING THE HOURS OF PAID PARKING AT CITY METERS FROM 9:00 AM UNTIL 12:00 MIDNIGHT;AND EXTENDING CURRENT TWO HOUR PARKING METERS TO THREE HOURS;AND PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE WHEREAS,theCity of SouthMiamiis supportive of merchants andbusinesses throughout theCity;and WHEREAS,areductioninthehourswhereparkingfeesarechargedandanincreasein the maximum time allowed on short term meters is felt to be beneficial to merchants and businesses. NOW,THEREFORE,BEITRESOLVEDBYTHEMAYORAND CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF SOUTH MIAMI: Section 1.The City Commission directs the City Manager to change the hours of paid meter parking from thecurrenthoursof7 AM until 12:00 Midnight tonewhoursof9AM until 12:00Midnight; Section 2.TheCity Commission directs theCityManagerto increase the maximum time allowed on short-term meters from two hours to three hours. BACKGROUND The attached resolution sponsored by Commissioner Russell limits the hours of paid parking at City meters and changes the current hours from 7:00 am until 12 midnight to 9:00 a.m.until 9:00 p.m.It further increases the maximum time allowed on short-term meters from two to three hours.
