NOTICE OF ATTORNEY/CLIENT SESSION
Please take notice that there will be a Non-Public attorney-client session to be held
pursuant to Section 286.011(8), Fla. Stat to discuss Orlando Martinez de Castro v. City of South
Miami, Case No .13-09342 CA 15; Orlando Martinez de Castro v. City of South Miami, Case No
15-7771 CA 27; Orlando Martinez de Castro v. City of South, Case No 14-6595; Orlando
Martinez de Castro v. Welsh, Case No 14-19275; Orlando Martinez de Castro v. Stoddard, Case
No Case No 13-18247; and Jose Lopez v City of South Miami, Stoddard, Welsh & Harris, Case
No. 14-2986.
The attorney-client session will be held on Tuesday, June 2, 2015 at 6:00 p.m.
commencing at a meeting in Commission Chamber at City Hall, located at 6130 Sunset Drive,
South Miami, Florida. The session will commence at an open meeting at which the Mayor will
announce the commencement and estimated length of the attorney-client session and the names
of the persons attending. At the conclusion of the attorney-client session, the meeting will be
reopened, and the Mayor will announce the termination of the session. The closed door attorney-
client session will be attended by Mayor Philip Stoddard, Vice Mayor Walter Harris, and
Commissioner Josh Liebman, Commissioner Gabriel Edmond, Commissioner Bob Welsh, City
Attorney Thomas F. Pepe, Lyman Reynolds, Margaret Mevers, City Manager Steven Alexander,
and Orange Legal (court reporter).
The subject matter of the meeting shall be confined to settlement negotiations or strategy
sessions related to litigation expenditures. The entire session shall be recorded by a certified
court reporter who will record the times of commencement and termination of the session, all
discussion and proceedings, the names of all persons present at any time, and the names of all
persons speaking. No portion of the session shall be off the record. The court reporter's notes
shall be fully transcribed and filed with the City Clerk within a reasonable time after the meeting,
but the transcript shall not be open to public inspection until after the conclusion of the litigation.
