2g1 RESOLUTION NO. ___ _ 2 3 A Resolution acknowledging Mayor Stoddard's re-appointment of Kevin 4 T. Greiner to serve on the Planning Board for a second, two-year term 5 ending April 6, 2017. 6 7 WHEREAS, Article II, Section 8, Sub-section A of the City Charter provides that: 8 9 * * * When a Board or Committee is comprised of five members, each City 10 Commissioner shall appoint one person to serve as a representative on 11 the Board or Committee. When there are more than five (5) members on a 12 Board or Committee, each City Commissioner shall appoint one person to 13 serve as a representative on the Board or Committee, and all members of 14 such Board or Committee in excess of five (5) shall be appointed by three 15 (3) affirmative votes of the City Commission based on recommendations 16 submitted by any City Commissioner. When a Board or Committee has less 17 than five (5) members, then the selection of all members shall be by three (3) 18 affirmative votes of the City Commission from recommendations submitted 19 by any City Commissioner. (Amended 2-09-10) 20 21 WHEREAS, the Mayor and Commission recognize the important contributions made by those 22 who serve on the various city boards and committees, and wish to appoint a full complement to each of 23 the active boards and committees; and 24 25 WHEREAS, Mayor Stoddard desires to re-appoint Kevin T. Greiner to serve on the Planning 26 Board for a two-year term. Appointments shall expire April 6, 2017 or until a successor is duly appointed 27 and qualified; and 28 29 WHEREAS, commencing with appointments made after January 1, 2009, Sec. 2-22 "Term 30 Limits" of the Code of Ordinances provides that, appointees are limited to two (2) consecutive two-year 31 terms of membership on a specific commission, board, or committee. After serving a maximum of two (2) 32 consecutive year terms, an appointee shall not be reappointed to the same commission, board or 33 committee unless at least one year has elapsed between the term limited position and the effective date of 34 commencement of the proposed appointment for a new term; and 35 36 WHEREAS, Sec. 2-22 "Term Limits" of the Code of Ordinances, as amended by Ordinance No. 37 06-14-2184, dated April 15, 2014, provides that the appointer, or his or her successor in office, may 38 extend the term limits of his or her appointment with the advice and consent of a majority of the City 39 Commission; and 40 41 WHEREAS, pursuant to Sec. 2-22 "Term Limits" of the Code of Ordinances, this is Mr. 42 Greiner's second two-year term. 43 44 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE MAYOR AND CITY COMMISSION 45 OF THE CITY OF SOUTH MIAM1, FLORIDA, THAT: 46 47 Section 1. Renamed the Buffalo Lakeside Commerce Park, the project's first manufacturing tenant opened operations in Fall 2004. City of Buffalo HomeOwnership Zone -Authored and managed the City's winning HomeOwnership Zone plan in response to a HUD nationwide competitive grant. The City's plan for the Willert Park neighborhood was the top rated development plan (receiving the only perfect score) from among 98 cities applying for the program nationwide. The award from HUD included $48 Mi Ilion in private and public funds for redevelopment of the neighborhood. A comprehensive redevelopment strategy, the plan included over 700 units of new housing development, retail, employment, job training and small business creation programs, public improvements and schools development. The first 30 units of housing and streetscape improvements were completed in early 1998. The HomeOwnership Zone Plan received the 1997 Western New York American Planning Association's award for outstanding planning project for comprehensive planning. Downtown Waterfront Plan, BuffaJo New York -$27 million waterfront redevelopment plan including two new harbor inlets, a waterfront esplanade walkway system, greenway trail, public plaza, a multi-modal regional transit center, new light rail transit station, and new road, \'vater and sewer infrastructure development. North Jersey Transportation Planning Authority -Designed and programmed Transportation Improvement Program database, a project tracking and accounting system used to estimatel plan, and manage $1.5 billion in transportation investments.
