A Resolution appointing Annick Sternberg to serve on the Green Task 3
Force for a two-year term ending November 5, 2016. 4

WHEREAS, Article II, Section 8, Sub-section A of the City Charter provides that: 6

* * * When a Board or Committee is comprised of five members, each 8
City Commissioner shall appoint one person to serve as a 9
representative on the Board or Committee. When there are more than 10
five (5) members on a Board or Committee, each City Commissioner 11
shall appoint one person to serve as a representative on the Board or 12
Committee, and all members of such Board or Committee in excess of 13
five (5) shall be appointed by three (3) affirmative votes of the City 14
Commission based on recommendations submitted by any City 15
Commissioner. When a Board or Committee has less than five (5) 16
members, then the selection of all members shall be by three (3) 17
affirmative votes of the City Commission from recommendations 18
submitted by any City Commissioner. (Amended 2-09-10) 19

WHEREAS, the Mayor and Commission recognize the important contributions made by 21
those who serve on the various city boards and committees, and wish to appoint a full 22
complement to each of the active boards and committees; and 23

WHEREAS, Ms. Sternberg has not serve on the Green Task Force in the past; and 25
26
WHEREAS, the City Commission desires to appoint Annick Sternberg to serve for a 27
two-year term on the Green Task Force. Appointment shall expire November 5, 2014 or until a 28
successor is duly appointed and qualified; and 29

WHEREAS, commencing with appointments made after January 1, 2009, Sec. 2-22 31
“Term Limits” of the Code of Ordinances provides that, appointees are limited to two (2) 32
consecutive two-year terms of membership on a specific commission, board, or committee. After 33
serving a maximum of two (2) consecutive year terms, an appointee shall not be reappointed to 34
the same commission, board or committee unless at least one year has elapsed between the term 35
limited position and the effective date of commencement of the proposed appointment for a new 36
term. 37

WHEREAS, pursuant to Sec. 2-22 “Term Limits” of the Code of Ordinances, this will 39
be Ms. Sternberg’s first two-year term. 40

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE MAYOR AND CITY 42
COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF SOUTH MIAMI, FLORIDA, THAT: 43

Section 1. The City Commission hereby appoints Annick Sternberg to the Green 45
Task Force pursuant to the terms of the City Charter. 46

Section 2. The expiration date of this appointment shall be November 5, 2014, unless 2
earlier removed, or until a successor is duly appointed and qualified. 3

Section 3. This resolution shall take effect immediately upon adoption. 5
