1. An Ordinance of the City of South Miami, located in Miami-Dade County,
Florida ("City"), approving a tentative millage rate of the City for the fiscal year
commencing October I, 2014, through September 30, 2015 which amount
may be amended at the first or second reading, and approving and enacting
the final millage rate of the City on second reading.

13 Commission: Yvonne Beckman, BradCasset Antoinette Fischer, Sharon McCain, Deltravis
14 Williams.

16 This is a summary of Commission's comments, mostly on the CIP plan: the doggie
17 park, proposed location and the money allocation for the project; a pilot project for trash pile in
18 front of properties; RFP for solar panels; the Underline project; a seawater rising study;
19 landscaping ad trees & shrubs fund; exploring franchises for both, commercial trash hauling,
20 and towing.

Mr. Alexander spoke about the business, improvement district where a staff person will
be hired to work on creating the bid which will bea partnership, between the business district
and the City. It will be a three-partYfgreement between thE!;merchants, the business owners
and the City. The fee for the consultalitfprcreating the bid will be $15,000; the Red Sunset
Merchants Association and the Hom'et'o~nGr()up are asking'us to contribute with $5,000
representing one-third of the cost for theson'sultCll1t.This money is allocated under the City
Manager's budget. At this junc:ture, Mr. AI~xanderread the draft ofthe agreement into the
record.
At the conclusion of the discussion the item was tabled in order to approve the millage
before approving the proposed budget.
