The show,whichlastyear attracted some 7,000 visitors tothe area (andcity),hasbeen growingsinceitsinceptionin February 1999. The purpose andobjective ofVolks Blast,isto generate fundsfor Habitat for Humanity of Greater Miami.To date,over$23,000hasbeen raised forthisworthwhile program. With financial sponsorship from Volkswagen of America,Deel,Esserman,SouthMotors VolkswagenandWestrex Automotive Corporation,theshowhasgrowninsizeandcontent. Theshowisopentothe public free ofcharge with entertainment provided alsoatno charge. Many sponsors contribute servicesorgoodstobe auctioned.Thismoneyisalso contributed to Habitatfor Humanity. Theyareknowntogrowuptothreeinch esinlength,areableto fly,don't limitthem selves tonighttime activities,getnorespect from most people ("gross'and"ugly"are not uncommondescriptions),andcansurvive beingsteppedon.Itsoundedperfecttous, andthenamewas adopted immediately with overwhelming approval.
