The meeting was called to order by Layer .tritz WL th Councilmen 73ryant, Gluck ' and Corley responding to roll call. l ayor lj'ritz stated the reason .for calling the Special meeting was because of ratifying the temporary Judge, and it was his understanding that -the Council had authorized hire before tho ne -xt meeting to appoint <a Jud ;e, and that George L. l ollahan, Jr. was the only nominee for the job. 1 r. ?lollahan has agreed to serve, and has already ta'l.en oath. There is no question about theappointment but there remains the 'nkattor of ratification of that appointrmort by the Council. Mr. Gresham had.quostioned the legality of thoappointmont, and he should be here at the meeting shortly. We could discuss it not. Councilman Gluck- suggested waiting five minutos Par 11r. Gresham. Mayor Fritz pointed out -that it is only a tomijorary appointrlent, , Councilman Corley, too, stated that it is only for thirty days.
