r BUDGET NDUDO OP SOUTH hilAi,= CITY COLi;CIL 9:00 P. I,.. , JITLY 10, ,1951, The meeting .bras called -to order at 9:00 I'. M. by I: ayor John Fritz. Those pro's'ent were Councilmen Gluck, Barrow, Gresham, Bryant, and Corley. The City Clerk read the budget Pro-oared by the Council. Followir_g the reeding of the budget, discussion was opened on the budget by departments Mayor Fritz opened the discussion on the Administration Department budget vrith the following remarks: The total of 4,2'14,735 is broken down as read to you by the Cleric. P have followed as closely as vie could the total actually spent and the anticipated for the two months of 3:iay and Juno, Enid set up a budget on past port ornwnce, wit a slight increaser where the actual expenditures last year have re quired it. In addition_ •to last year's budget of %3,345 there is an increase set by our city charter vdioroby Council salaries, Mayor's salary, and Llayor's expense ac count were set up for $1800 for salaries and x;300 for an expense account. In addition to than vie have added a now Department of Engineering Zerviee. By resolution the Council has contracted for engineering service at $50 per month. Also by resolution, the Council has sot up an engineering or professional service of $2500 to make a survey of our utility services, telephone and power, to see if by changing the franchise and by an audit of the telephone books, we are receiving the amount of money that we should receive. This gives us then, for those t o items, If3100. In addition to that, we are it need of a new zoning map and a new zoning code. The additional funds in this item are covorod by the additional money requested in this department. The Reserve for Contingencies of 0655 is exactly ;ihat it says. A Re- Y - servo for a possible increase in prices, for an unanticipated e- ,monsy that the Cit would be forced to spend. Followinc; the above rormrkss, I` ayor Vrtiz asked if t.-ore were any con menu from the Council or the Audience. 111. AMBR: I would like •to say that I, as a tax payer, would recoma end that engineering service be out down '1400.
