' The meeting was called to corder by Mayor I7�ri•tz- with all memoers of the • + -� - -.W. ` City Council and Atty. Ruff responding to roll call. Councilman Barrow, seconded by Councilman Gresham, 'moved that minutes of the regular: meeting of June 5 be adopted as individually read. A:otion carried. Councilman Gresham, seconded by Councilman Bryant, moved that they get away from the agenda and make the first item of business Ordinance ;-207. I4otion carried. Mayor Fritz asked the . Clerk to read the motion that had been tabled for action at this meeting, to wit; "Councilman Barrow, seconded by Councilman Gresham, moved that a referendum be held within 60 days to control the hours for the sale of alcoholic beverages." Mayor ?Fritz stated the original motion is therefore open. He does not believe there is need for further discussion on this matter and therefore is asking :for a vote on the motion. The motion failed to car2y, by 'poll, as follows: -:, Gluck, no,; Barrow, yes; Gresham, no- Bryant, no; Corley, no. _ ;Mayor Fitz stated the Council has had amplo time to consider and make rip its mind on the article of this ordinance. Idayor Fritz asked for the Personnel Board report on the temporary steno- clerk position advertised., Air. Boyden reported that three applications had been received but the request for salary on one was above the'maximtim, so that automatically dis- qualified that applicant. They interviewed the other two on Friday night and reco:mnonded.them in the following, order: l.Robert Eli Pollack 2.11arguerite W. Robinson Ivtr. Boyden brought up the difficulties of getting someone to take the Council meetings and suggested that other arrangements be made for that, and that a salary of 0110.00 per week be paid the temporary steno- clork. Mayor Frig, re the transcript made by the two steno-typists at tine last regular meeting, stated this was 98 pages. He has contacted the stone- typist service at the school, they will give this service at 5x10.00 per evening to include the transcript, from which an extract of minutes would be made in the City Clark's office.; The City is to furnish paper and carbon for the original and carbon copy. This sorvico is to cover both the Zoning; and Planning Board meeting and the Council meetings' during bIrs. martin's absence, at 010.00 per meeting for a maxirmm of 5 Hours per meeting, and $2.00 per hour for any time over that. Tho regular fee would be rtbout $50 to $x60 per mooting. He read a letter from Allied Equipment advising that any good 2 -ton truck with size 900 tires will do a satisfactory job of 'hauling 23 tons;. Following discussion re expense -,of purchasing a truck or ronting a truck and traRer at approximately $S.00 per hour, Councilman Gresham, seconded by Councilman Corley, m6ved that all bid bonds be returned and that the bids on the trailer be tabled. A letter from the County engineer stating that South Miami is to get the R/W south of Davis Road, was read. This was not the original' understanding, and Councilman Gluck is to get together with 11r. uhartle. Councilman Gluck stated that the field work on the project'is all done. Idayor Fritz stated that inasmuch as funds for this project wore not set, up in this budget, but were sot up in the next budget, it will require a resolution to provide for this payment. Atty. Ruff was instructed to prepare a resolution for t.e next special nio et ing.
