The meeting was ;called to order by President Prebish, with Mayor Acker, Councilmen' Andrews, Gresham, Carballo, Preble and Prebish and Attoraey Ruff responding to roll calla Minutes of.the regular meeting of June 6the were read. Councilman 'Carballo, re: the roport of the Fire Dept., on Page 7. stated he had said he had nothing to, say. Councilman Preble objected tothe requested correction. President Prebish stated that as he recalled it, Councilman :Carball nlk stated in effect what the Clerk had put down in the minutes. Following discussion, President Prebish directed that the minutes be corrected by adding the words "by the Mayor." The minutes. stood approved as corrected. Councilman Andrews called for the reading of the notice for the special meeting, which had been called for the purpose of opening bids for jalousies and for receiving, and considering the proposed budget estimate for 1950 -51. FOR TOTAL PRICE OF ONE - HUNDRED FIFTY DOLLARS (. .$150.00,) INSLOILLED. WfEREAS, the Council in regular session on lday 16, A.D. 1950, passed a motion to advertise for bids for 4 -unit glass jalousies to fit opening 11 f8. by 3 ft. 8 inches installed, complete, and WIEREAS, in accordanco with Charter provisions, legal notice for sealed bids were inserted in the Miami herald of May 20, A.D. 1950 to be opened on June 6 A.D. 1950, and IME;EAS, bids from four concerns xvero oubmi:tted in accordance therewith, and W11MEAAS, considering ail mattora cd:ic6riting the bid and dolivory dates Air -lue Products, 'Inc.,, has provided the meat tavorabin bid. Councilman Gresham, seconded by Councilman Andrews, moved that Resolution No. 344 be adopted as read;. Motion carried by poll, as follows: Corley yes Preble yes Carballo yes Gresham yes Andrews yes Probish yes Mayor Acker, in re: the budget estimate, gave an explanation on various items. He also asked the Council to consider - whether to take the item of insurance out of the various' departments and consolidate it into one item under. Administration. Councilman Preble believed it should be pro -rated into the departments as has been done 't o now. Court ilman Csxballo asked mhat the expenditures had consisted of for the previous year. John W. G. 'Fritz, in the audience, stated lie had not heard the answer to Councilman Carballots question. In further discussion, he quoted from a copy of the' City' Charter in his ,possession, re:: Section 20, which set forth in detail the procedure for budget preparation procedure, and questioned whether these requirements had been mat.
