The meeting was called to order by Pres. Prebish with ivayor ;Acker) 41tty.

Frebish, responding, to roll call.
Pres. Yrebish read the notice for the meeting which had been called for
7:30 P..f. and to adjourn not later than 10:30 P -Y- for the purpose of
taking action on the request of the ii'lorida toner and Light Co. for
permit to install a high line and for further discussion and reading
of 'the, proposed fire prevention ordinance.
Councilman Gresham2 seconded by Councilman Carballo� moved that Resole
tion No.. 301 be read. Motion carried.

That the Florida Power & Light Company . is hereby authorized
acid permitted to install one 66 liV three -phase power transmission line
through the City of South Tilia i on the north side of North 4th Street
from North 4th avenue to Iced Road, and on the North side of Miller
Drive from ,North 4th Avenue to Ludlam Road upon the following conditions t
1. The line;, including ;guy stub poles and anchors) to be
constructed in accordance with all requirements of the National Jelectric
Safety Code.
2'* The existing electrical distribution line along North 4th
Street to be constructed on the transmission line poles in accordance
with such code.
3. Poles used to be 55 Peet in length or such longer length
as may be needed to provide °standard necessary clearances; maximum spans
to be 300 feet for the transmission lines.
4. Should North 4th Street be widened at some future date, the
t:ompany is to relocate its facilities on the right -of -way thereof with-
out cost or expense whatsoever to the City.
5 The Florida power u Light Company is to eliminate the
hazards now caused by the power pole at the intersection of North 4th
Street and Red Road2 subject to approval. of Chief of Police and Chairman
of Streets and Parks.

G Be Hiers of the Fla. Power Light Co. reported that there are 51
"lots along the north side of t7. 4th Ste along the route of the pro-
posed high line, that -all owners had been contacted and they had
received approval from 41 and of the remaining 10 the owners were
out of the City at present.
Pres. Prebish stated that in view of the releases received by the
k1orida.Power &- Light Co. he believed a public hearing will not be
necessary.
Councilman Gresham seconded by Councilman "treble, moved that Resolu-
tion No,. °301 be adopted as read. Motion carried,
Iynutes of the regular meeting of June 21 were approved as read.
"As emergency matters Councilman Andrews presented a request for an
extension of 10 days leave of absence for :Electrical Inspector Re C.
Gawmage whose return to South Miami has been delayed by illness. It
was agreed to grant this requests and that no motion is necessary.
Further reading and discussion of the proposed Fire Prevention Ordinance
was next in order.
The first sentence in Sec. 18 H was amdnded. by the addition "within 10
feet of any inflammable or explosive mattert, and further, all
premises shall provide proper safety precautions including adequate
ventilation as approved by the Chief of the Bureau of Fire Prevention."
Section 18 L and Section 18 1d were struck out.
The reading was completed thru Section 22 and the meeting adjourned in
regular order at approximately 10:25 P.M.
