The meeting etas called to order by Pres. Barron:, with Councilmen
Bryant, Atwood, Shafer, Pressley, 10aples and Barrow responding to
roll call,
Pres. Barrow read the notice for the meeting which had been called for
the purpose of taking final action on the 1948 -1949 budget ordinance
and for further discussion of the proposed garbage service ordinance.
Councilman Pressley, seconded by Councilman Liaples, moved that urdi-
nance -#173, caption of which follows, be placed on third and final,
reading in its entirety. Motion carried.
ORDINANCE NO- 173
APPROPRIATION ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF
SOUTH 1viIAPtT2 FOR TIE YEAR BEGINNING JULY 11
A.D. 1948 AND ENDING �`UNE 302 A.D. 1949.
Thereupon Councilman Pressloy, seconded by Councilman Bryant, moved
that Ordinance No. 173 be adopted as read. Motion carried by poll
as follows:

blayor Clark joined the meeting at this pointy in the course of which
it was finally agreed to have a base service charge of :$16.00 per year
payable in advance, or $4.50 per quarter, and the same ;charge to apply
t.o commercial units as to residential. It was agreed, however, to take
no further action at this time but have the ordinance drawn and checked
by the ;City Attorney for the next regular meeting, and make the ef-
fective date September 1.
There being no further business, the meeting was adjourned in regular
order at approximately 9105 P.M.
