TIC CITY HALL AT :8:00 P.M..
The meeting was called to order by Vice- President Barrow with 11ayor
Thompson and Councilmen Bryant, Shafer, Darrow, Pressleyt Maples
and Atwood responding; to roll call.'
Vice -Pres. Barrow read the notice for the meeting which had been
called for the purpose of taking action on the bids on jail plumbing
called for in a legal notice on October 18, 1947 in the 'MIAMI DAILY`
NEWS, and any emergency business that may come before the meeting. '
A total of three sealed bids had been received and were opened. They
were as follows:

V. L. Pope 92.00 ), for 4 toilets! 2 lavatories and
Miller Bros. 7 4.72) 2 showers.
Following a discussion, Councilman Pressley, seconded by Councilman
Maples, moved that the 13%. H. Coker bid be accepted with the under-
standing that he give written specifications before commencing the
work, otherwise new bids are to be, asked for. Motion carried by
poll, as follows;
Bryant yes Shafer yes Barrow yes Pressley yes Maples yes Atwood yes
As emergency business the Council considered the plans of Cmar E.
Stang for a proposed business building on Lots 189 19 and 20 COOPER'S
SUED. with special attention to the setback requirements on N. lst
St. Following a discussion, Councilman Bryant, seconded by Councilman
Maples, moved that Utr. Stang be granted permit to go ahead with his
plans as dravnj inasmuch as they also provide additional off street
parkirig which will eliminate existing traffic hazards. Motion carried.
There being no further business, the meeting was adjourned in regular
order at approximately 8:50 P.N.
