The meeting was called to order by Pres. Clarlti, following adjournment.of
the Equalization Board meeting, i�th I,'ayor Thompsol�, kitty. *=yard and
Councilmen Bryant,, Shafer, Atwood, Barr ow, Laples and Clark. re spending
to roll call.
Frank Vilk appeared before the'Council to state that he was definitely
opposed to the proposed requested change of zoning along Red Road south
of Sunset Drive, and was assured he ;:could be given ample notice for the
hearing.
A public hearing of the proposed 1947- 48 budget, as per newspaper notice
in both Mliami- daily papers, rxas held at this time, with the reading of
the proposed budget and the comparative figures for the preceding year.
There were arproximately 20 citizens present7 some of whom took part in the
discussion on the possibility of increasing the figure for publicity,
but agree-in& to the reasonableness of the budget as a whole. Thereupon
Councilman Maples, seconded by Councilman Barrol moved that 'Ordinance
#162 also known as the Appropriation Ordinance, caption of which follovns,
be placed on first reading in its entirety. Notion carried.

Councilman Bryant, seconded by Cowacilman 11aples, then moved that
Ordinance r'r162 be placed on second reading by caption only. Llotion
carried.
Bernard Vazquez next appeared before the Council it reference: to the
Wilson goat farm adjoining g Ward stated that up until re- '
eently building codes and restrictions held up matters but that now he
believed Lr- Wilson could get material and put up the necessary buildings
elsewhere. Following a discussion, Councilman biaples, seconded by Council-
man Barron, moved that I4. E. Wilson be asked to come to the next meeting,
to be held Tuesday, July 22, to discuss the problem. i,iotion carried.
Minutes of the regular meeting of July 1 were approved as read.
Atty. :lard reported that he had filed an appearance for the City and-
Councilmen on rule day, on the trash pit case;.,

It Was also agreed that the City could not be held responsible for any
equipment left out by any of the organizations , and they all be notified,
by letter.
Chairman Atwood asked for a ruling on damaged sidewalks i up on AI. 3rd Rd*
south of Bird and on the advisability of making that a one -sway street
because there is only a 25 -ft. R/W. Atty. Ward stated that that was
entirely a matter for the residents there to work, out.
In view- of the proposed ° budget, it was agreed that Lee Goodwin be
given.notice for August 11 with a definite schedule for the care of
the Community Building and grounds to be worked out between I. 0.
Canington, John Shuck, and any colored help available.
Councilman Shafer, seconded by Councilman Atwood, moved that the
Jari movrer be sold for $40.00 to E. H. Rogers. Motion carried by poll
as follows:

There being no further business, the meeting was adjourned in regular,
