The meeting was called to order by Imes. Barrow with Mayor Vander-
boegh, Bitty. Ward and Councilmen.Gladden, Saposl Faustq Maples
Brown and Barrow responding to roll call.
Pres. Barrow read the notice for the meeting which had been called
for the purpose of meeting with Directors of the South Miami Riding
Club to discuss the CAtg3RIDGE LAWNS project.
The Riding Club was represented by Pres. Shay, and Messrs. Llewellyn
Bostwick, Cotton, Wittkow, Stang and H F. ?"lard.
Pres. Shay outlined the proposed plans of the Club, stating, that
they had requested the meeting with the Council to find out what
could be done to get an ordinance passed permitting the construction
of stables., riding rings9 etc. on the property recently acquired
by the Club at a tax sale. .Atty. W. G. V,ard pointed out that the
present ordinance would have to be amended to change the present
residential zoning to a C -2 and special use for this area, to enable
the Club to carry out its proposed program.
Following a discussions Councilman Brown, seconded by Councilman
Saposl moved that if the Riding Club will get up - -a list of tentative
� uses and present a general plan for the placing of stables, rings
!A <, etc., that the necessary steps be taken to amend Crdinance 98
to grant C -2 and special uses to that area. Motion carried. The
Mayor expressed himself as also in favor of this;.
There being no further business, the meeting was adjourned in regu-
l9r order at approximately 9 :05 P.M.
