The meeting was called to order by Pres. Barrow with Councilmen
Gladden, Sapos, I4aples, Pope, Rro,yn, aiad Barrow and :1%tty. "`ard �

Minutes of the regular, meeting of .April 17 were approved as read;.
The following c.,, rmriunications were read:
I. A letter of thanks to the Fire Department for its able assistance
at" a fire ,vhich threatened his home on April 17, from n. C. ilitt
0 2. A letter of thanks from the South -Miami District Chamber of
Coamierce for assistance, in connection with the Easter sunrise service.

3. An invitation to the City officials to attend the Boy Scout Fxamin-
ing, Court on May 21st, extended by Fdgar E. Shafer.
Councilman Faust joined the meeting during the reading 'of the cornuni-
cations.
Pres. Sarrcw reported receipt of a check for $200,.00 by the Boy Scout
Troop from the Suuth ?:iami Riding i Club, fur their i,art of the Horse

Finance L.Y. Chairman Gladden reminded members of the Council that
it was time to begin working on the budget for the coming fiscal ,year,
Sanitation: There: was a thorough discussun regarding the service be-
ing- rendered, and it was decidod that the police de}.artment be asked
to suxcrvise this ��orl nd :sec s close check on the truck driver and
his helper.
Fire: O.I . In the course of a d scus<,riori it teas decided th -t a few
good rains should put all the viells into good condition. It was also
decided that if Mr. Chinn puts down a 4 in. well on his property that
he be asked to consent to having a c, iu).uctitn I ut on which �,ould make
it possible to use in case of fire.
