W. T. Clarke Notary Publics administered the loath of office to
Ma y H V1. Vanderboegh2 who in turn administered the oath
of office to Councilmen -elect ?,Iinford W. Browny T. J. Faustq John W.
Sapos and Joseph Gladden,
The meeting was then called to order by Mayor Vanderboegh who called
for a motion for the appointment of a temporary chairman for the :j
meeting.
Upon motion of Councilman Gladdenq; seconded by Councilman Faust
and 'carriedq Councilman Brown was appointed temporary chairman of the
meeting, and took the chair. ,
Nominations for the president of Council were thereupon declared in
order and Councilman Gladdens presented the name of H. H. Barrow.
Councilman Sapos, seconded by Councilman Fausty moved that nominations
be closed. Motion carried and Councilman -elect H. declared
President.
Inasmuch as Councilmen -elect Barrow2 Pope and Maples were unable to be
i present at this time Councilman Fausty; seconded by Councilman Gladden
moved that the meeting be adjourned until 8 P.M. to -night (Thursday,
March 12 1945). Motion carried.

CITY COUNCIL OF SOUTH MIAMI HELD THURSDAY
EVEN111GO MARCH 19 A.D. 1945 AT THE CITY
HALL AT 8:00 P.M.
The meeting was called to order by .Ires. Barrow (who had been previously
sworn in by Mayor Vanderboeghg together with Councilmen Maples and Pope_)
with Mayor Vanderboegh and Councilman Gladdens Sepos7 Fausts Maplesq
Pope and Barrow responding to roll call.
Nominations for first vice- Prosidenti were declared in order and Council
scan Gladden presented 'the name of Councilman Pope. Councilman Gladdens
seconded by Cowicilman Faust] then moved nominations be closed. Motion
carried and Councilman mope declared first vice- president.
Nominations for second vice - president being declared in orders Council-
man Faust presented the name of Councilman Brown. Councilman Gladden,
seconded by Councilman Maples, moved nominations be closed. Motion
carried and Councilman Brown declared second vice - president.
Pres. Barrow then took up the' matter of appointments for standing',
committees which were as follows:

OF SOUTH MIAMI, FLORIDA BEGINNING MARCH 19 A.D.

--BE IT' RESOLVED B7 THE MAYOR AND CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SOUTH;
MIAMI, FLORIDA; _.
?HOREAS, on March 1, A.D. 1945, the newly elected officers of the
City of South Miami, Florida were inducted into office, and
WHEREAS 9 H. Hollis Barrow has been duly elected President of the
City Council, and
�`�tEAS, Joseph Gladden has been duly appointed as Committeeman
on Finance, and
WHEREAS, Sylva G. Martin has been retained as City Clerk and
Treasurer
NCr,49 THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Mayor and City Council of
the City of South Miami that commencing March 1, 1945, and until
further notice, the Coconut Grove Exchange Bank be and it is,

hereby authorized to honor the signature of Joseph as
Committeeman, on Finance, H. 'Hollis Barrow as President of the
City Council and Sylva G. Martin as City Treasurer and City Clerk
on all vouchers of the City of South 1,Tiami drawn ;against the City's
funds in that said bank.'
