THE CITY COUNCIL OF (SOUTH IVIIAMI BELT)
TUESDAY L'VENING., AUGUST 15, A.D. 1944
AT THE CITY HALL AT 8:00 P.M.
The meeting was called to order by Pres . Brown with Mayor Vanderboegh
and Councilmen Gladden, Bostwickq Barrow, Chinn, Bennett and Brown c
responding to roll call.
Minutes of the regular meeting of August 1, of the special meeting
of August 4 and of the, special meeting of u,gust ;8. were respectively
read and approved.
Reports of standing committees were as follows:
Finance. O.K.
- Sanitation! Absent
Fire: 0A
Police: O.K. With the opening of school only a °little moire than three
weeks off, it was decided to; get .necessary repairs made to the school
bus and make application for two new tires for the front wheels and 4
used tire's for the dual rear wheels
Streets & Parks Chairman Chinn reported that attempts had been made
to grade the roads in colored town but there was not enough rock on
them for that purpose and it was 'decided that for the present to have
rock hauled into the worst holes.'

meetingf it was again brought out that the Council was averse to chang-
ing the zoning regulations.
Mayor Vanderboegh reported on the forthcoming rat eradication program
covering the area from south of Peters north to Bird Roadq sponsored
by the South Miami District Chamber of Commerce.
The following bills were presented for arproval and payments
Florida Power & Light Co. 166.37 street lights for Aug.

Councilman Bostwickt seconded by Councilman Gladden, moved the bills
