CITY COUNCIL OF SOUTH MIAMI IELD FRI-
DAY EVt3,1dING9 AUGUST 49 A. D. 1944 AT
THE CITY HALL AT 8:30 P.M.
The meeting, was called to order by Pres. Brown with Councilmen
Faustt Bennett Barrow, and -Brown and Mayor vanderboegh respond-
ing to roll call. Messrs. E. L. Cotton, David Dukes and E. L.'
Thompson of the Advisory Zoning Board were also present.
Pres. Brown read the notice for the meeting which had been called
for the purpose of considering an amendment to the Zoning Ordinance
and for no -other business.
Mr. Cotton was given the floor and as Chairman of the Advisory
Zoning Board gave a,report of that Board's meeting on Wednesday
evening, August 21 at which time a recommendation was made to
increase the restrictions in residential areas to encourage
better building. Following a discussions Councilman.Barrowl
seconded by Councilman Bennett, moved that Ordinance #1471 caption
of which follows,, be placed on first reading in its entirety.
Motion carried.

Following the reading of Ordinance #1479 in its entiretyq'Councilman
Hennettq seconded by Councilman Faustq moved that Ordinance #147
be placed on second reading by caption only. Motion carried.
At this point Councilman Bostwick joined the meeting and Councilman
Faust asked to be excused.
There being no further business, the ,meeting was adjourned in regular
order at approximately 9:20 P.M
