MINUTES OF THE' REGUL -0 MEETING OF THE CITY
COUNCIL OF SOUTIi MIAMI HELD =SDAY =WING
FEBRUARY 15, A.D. 1944 AT THE CITY HALL AT
8;o0' P.M.
The meeting was called to order by Pres. Brown, with Mayor Vander
boegh, Atty. 'lard and Councilmen Barrow, Faust Bennett and 'Brown
responding to roll call. ,
Minutes of the regular meeting of February l were approved as read.
Mr. J. L. Bailey appeared before the'Council in connection with lot
lines in FRANKLIN SURD, stating that in 1925'or thereabouts a „survey
had been made showing that there was a shortage on the entire block,=
that it had been suggested at the time that about l ft. be taken off
each lot to adjust it, and was of the opinion that it had been made
a matter of record in the minutes. Mr. Thompson, as building inspector,
had talked with Mr. Bailey about these lot lines in connection with an
application for alterations by Mamie Mallory. Investigation had shown

to building, a violation of the building ordinance which established
building lines 5 feet from side lot lines. Inspector Thompson was in
structed to be guided by the building code and have the building

A letter from the CDT advising of its approval for a 60 -day period of
the CAMBRIDGD LAWNS bus service, was read.

Fire: O.K. Chairman Barrow reported on 2 good brush fires, but had no
report of the trailer.
Police. O.K.
Streets & Parks: Absent.= -
Building. Mayor Vanderboegh, in the absence of Chairman Bostwick pre-
seated an estimate of the total cost of installing a larger pump and
tank in the newly completed pump house, from Angerman Electric being

man Darrow, seconded by Councilman Bennett, moved that Chairman Host
wick be instructed to purchase the equipment at the price quoted and
include a direct line for filling the fire truck. Motion carried.
Councilman Barrow stated that street repairs were being; made in the
northwest section of Miami around 22nd Ave. and 62nd Ste and that
streets in Miami Springs had been re- surfaced, so that material must be
available.
Atty. ,'lard reported that the Quo Warrs nto suits were supposed to come up
the 17th or 18th and that he had made the proposal that the City would
not contest the cases, providing the outstanding taxes were paid', and he
was instructed to get the best settlement possible.
Councilman Faustq seconded by Councilman Harrow, moved that ratty. Ward take
the .necessary steps to protect the City's interests in that portion of
