AUGUST 179 A.D. 1943 AT TIE CITY HALL. AT
8:00 P.m.
The meeting was called to order by President Brown, with Mayor °Vanderboegh,
Councilmen Gladden, Barrow, Bostwick, Chine Bennett and Brown and Atty.-
H1. F. '11-lard responding to roll call.
Minutes of the regular meeting of August 3 were approved as read.
Report's of standing committees were as follows
Fsnance: O.K.
Sanitation: Absent '
ire's Chairman Barrow reported that the station was getting painted and,
cleaned up.
Police: O.K.
Streets &- Parkss Chairman Chinn reported that the streets had been
patched by the crew on the County patch wagon: which
had been in town from August 9 through August 17.

At this point Councilman Faust joined the meeting.
Buildines C.K. Chairman, Bostwick reported that it teas planned to wall
in a portion of the shed at the back of the building for a
store room.
Sanitat'o:, O.K.
As a special committee of one, Councilman -Chinn reported on his attendence
of the meeting of the Dade County Health Unit, stating that Dr. 'Cato was
doing an excellent job and was having a department head at each meeting
to explain his special department. The next meeting is scheduled for
October.
Councilman Bostwick., seconded by Councilman Faust, moved that Ordinance
#141, caption of which followsq, be placed on third and final reading in
its entirety. Motion carried,

PURPOSES; FOR STREETS, PARKS MID STREET LIGHT

AND PROVIDING FOR THE, LEVYING AhTD COLLECTION OF SAME.
Thereupon Councilman Gladden, seconded by Councilman Bostwick, moved that
Ordinance #141 be adopted as read. Motion carried by poll as follows:

r Mayor Vanderboegh reported on the proposed bulletin board for service menu
stating that he had someone who will build it, the material to cost approx-
imately $15.00, and that it was a question of its loeatione It was
decided the circle in front of the Community Building would be the proper
place, and Councilman BCstwickq seconded by Councilman Oladdeny moved that

Mayor Vanderboegh be authorized to go ahead with the sign and at that
location. Motion carried:
a" Councilman Bennettq seconded by Councilman Fausts moved that the Coco-
nut Grove Exchange Bank be 'designated as the bank to receive the
monthly deposit of the withholding tax money and that proper check
be drawn and deposited by the 10th of each month following and the
third month (end of the quarter) drawn directly to the Collector of
,_ Internal. Revenue. ,lotion carried by pollq as follows:

Councilman Gladden2, seconded by Councilman Bostwick, moved that the
Council approve the - payment of 54¢ to the Collector of Internal
Revenue for the balance of the 5, Victory tax withheld. Motion carried

Councilman Bennettq seconded by Councilman Bostwick'j moved that Atty.
Ward be authorized to draw up the necessary ordinance to require
liability and property damage insurance on all U- Drive -It cars and
to provide for monthly inspections) and to require surety bonds and
occupational licenses for used car dealers andq that any applications
for such 'licenses 'be held in abeyance until action; can be taken on,the
proposed. ordinance. Motion carried..
