The meeting_ was called to order by Vice -Prey. Bostwick, with Mayor Vanderboegh and Councilmen Gladdeni Barrow, Faust and Bostwick re- sponding to roll call. Minutes of the regular meeting of May 18 were approved as read. Regular business was suspended at this point to give visitors an opportunity to present their requests. A representation from CAM- BRIDGE, L :',ItiIS headed by Mrs. Clare Stout, presented a petition signed by approximately 54 residents of that subdivision asking for bus transportation. Mr. V. D. Bryant of the South Fiami Coach Line was also present and stated his willingness to work something out provided g explained that the latter would urequire taesurlveyf and 'allguaranteee'of a 40% load, which would' 7 mean 10 to 11 people per trip. It was left to Mr. Bryant to look into the matter. Dessrs. A. G.- Renuart and J. A. Be.chard discussed with the Council the question of replatting the subdivision PALhI MIAI:I BEIGHTS into tracts and the possibility of working out a solution for the settlement of back taxes now against this property, part of which is involved in a 440 Warranto proceeding and some of which reverted to the State under the Murphy law. A tentative plat submitted still showed Pinelan Drive { it was suggested that inasmuch as this had been closed in other �, portions or the subdivis;iong having never existed except on the plat, they also eliniinate' it. Their offer of 03.00 per acre per year in settlement o.f all outstanding City taxes was taken under consideration and the Cleric instructed to check the records to see on what basis such a settlement could stand. Mr. Renuart was also advised to try to re -Mat his portion of BIRD RC: ESTATES and UNIVERSITY PARKt re srectively (which are also in Quo 1darranto proceedings) and to make an offer for settlement there;.. Mr. V. D. Bryant then returned to ask the Council - regarding the pro- posed bus franchiseq stating that he would like a definite expression on the matter. It was agreed that an effort be made to get the whole Council together for the next meeting and have L.r. Bryant back to dis- cuss the question A letter was received from the P°ostoffice Department, acknowledging the City's letter regarding the re- classification of the local postoffice Reports of standing committees viere as follows Finance C.K. Sanitation. Councilman Faust, seconded. by Councilman Barrow moved that E. Ericson be pair: X48.00 for the two weeks he substituted for 'logers, while the latter was on his vacations and to increase the p €"y for labor on the trash truck to 450 per hour, effective June 1. Giffen Roofing Co Acme Supply Co. Robbins Roofing Co. Councilman Gladden, seconded by Councilman Faust, moved that they be turned over to the Euiiding Ciairran for tabulation and recommendation. Motion carried.
