1942-11-03 MINUTES OF CITY COUNCIL MTGI D MINUTES OF THE REGULAR 1,TEETING OF THE CITY COUNCIL OP SOUTII MIAMI FIELD TUESDAY EVENING NOVE —hMER 3, A.D. 1942 AT THE CI ^1Y 8:o0 HAL AT P.M, The meeting was called to order by'Pres. Faust, with 11,I8Lyor Vanderboegh and 'Councilmen Bostwick,; Brown, Chinn, Faust and Atty. H. F. Ward present.', Minutes of the regular meeting of October 20 were approved as read. The question of a location fora two -or three -day stand for the circus '4. was brought and it was decided to let- the IJtayor take the matter; up with the circus representative, to see what would be needed, before taking any further action. Reports of standing committees were as follows: Finance. Absent Sanitation. Mayor Vanderboegh reported that the grand jury had paid the City Hall a visit and found the jail in need of a thorough cleaning ups and it was his suggestion that the Council as a committee look into the matter after the meeting and decide on what is needed to remedy the situation. He also raised the question of selling the old trash truck, saying he had had several inquiries, but it was decided that it had littla -more than junk value and was worth that to keep. Two of the tires had already been taken off and put on the school bus. Fire_ O.K. ! Police. Absent Streets and Parks. Chairman Chinn reported that the County patch wacoa had put in six days patching; the streets. Buildin;s�: Nothing doing. Councilman Chinn reported on the meeting of the Dade County Health Unit which he had attended for South Miami as representative of the smaller municipalities. He submitted a copy of the proposed budget which is to be subject to further study of the Commission and calls for a total ex- penditure to June 30, 1943 of $226,102.48. He also stated that the City of Miami had entered whole- heartedly into the project.
