The meets was called to order by Pres. Vanderboegh with Mayor Glass
all members of the Council and Atty. .,,. G. ?lard responding to roll
call.
Minutes of the regular meeting of November 4 > were , approved as read.'
A letter addressed to the Council by W. A. Cooper, tendering his resig-
nation as police officer;t effective. Dec. 1. 1941, was read. Councilman
Bennettt seconded by Councilman Bostwtickt moved that the resignation
be accepted., Motion carried.
Reports of standing committees were as follows:
Finance. O.I.
Sanitation. 0. K. now. Had a little trouble during ftee;k, which was
being straightened out
Fire. O.K.. except for a complaint regarding ;excessive smoke coming,
from the ,LAesch factory. It was to be checked for smoke screen.
Polices Chairman Bennett stated that he expected several other appli-
cations within the next day or two and would prefer to wait with his
recommendations fora successor to Officer Cooper.
Streets & Parks: O.K. Pres. `Vanderboegh brought up the question of
the traffic light at Sunset & Red, istating that the intervals were
varied and seemed longer than necessary for the present traffic at that
intersection. The matter was thoroughly discussed and it was decided
to have the timing device checked and try to set it for 30- second
intervals.
Buildinizs. Chairman Bostwick again brought up the question of the

the matter would be cleared up this week.
Mayor Glass reported that Fres. Fuchs of the Chamber of Commerce had
received a letter from Thompson the float man wanting a building ;in
South Miami, and hoped t6��make'Aouth Miamils oat again] as well as
decorate the bakery.;
Mayor Glass also reported on the proposed banks stating that the bankers
wanted data on an area of approximately 10 miles around South Miami, in-
cluding portions of Coral Gables, and that forms were to be gotten out for
this purpose. He stated that the tendency at the meeting had been in
favor of a branch hank rather than an independent bank, but that the sur-
