The meeting was called to order by Pres. J'anderboegh with Miayor Glass, Councilmen Gladdens Bostwick Faust, Bennett] Vanderboegh and Atty. ;lard 1 responding to roll call., Minuteg of the regular meeting of April 15 were approved as read: A letter from E ss Lena Higham calling, attention to the poor condition of the sidewalk in front of her house at 14 S. Beal Rcad ,^gas read and referred to Councilman Core, of Streets and Parks, for attention. Atty. ?-lard explained that his letter regarding an opinion of the Attorney General regarding assessment of costs in habeas corpus actions had been sent to put: the City on notice to be fairly certain of the guilt, of .a plaintiff before arresting him." The offer of the Abrams Aerial Survey Corporation to furnish the City with an aerial photographic survey at a total eo'st of $278,50 was tabled until further notice7 upon motion of Councilman Bost, ,vick, seconded by Councilman Gladden and carried_. An application for subscription to FLORIDA GOMd,,RENT GUIDE was presented but it was decided that this Was not needed. Reports of standing committees were as follows: Finance: O.K. i Sanitation: U.K. F rz Absent PoliQe Chairman Bennett brought up the question of letting Chief "Tiegand use the X -tag originally issued to the 1939 Fords buying a new tag for the recently purchased 1941 Ford, but Atty. !lard advised against this and sug- gested, further, that the City could be held liable for any accident caused by the Chief's personal car while' being used for police duty. He recommended that the City try,to get a rider for liability on the Chief's car ,,ihile being used on police duty and definitely ruled against use of the X -tag.: B1i J Id J : The question of out -of -town electricians, etc. coming „;nto town to do wiring mobs without taking out either license or permits was again discus8edt and Chairman Bostwick asked any one noticing anything like that going on to cooperate by reporting its so that work could be stopped immediately if license and permit had i.ot been obtained.
