The meeting was called to order by Pres. ' Vanderboeg_h wi.h Playor Glass and
Councilmen Gladden, Bost'Nick,,Brown Faust, Bennett and Vanderboegh re
I sponding to roll call.
Pres Vanderboegh read the notice for the meeting which had been called
for the purpose of opening bids on the proposed purchase of a police car,
and for the consideration of any other business that may come before the
meeting.
Pinutes of the regular meeting of April 1 were approved as read.
Thereupon bids received from Huskamp DZotor Company and Sam Murray, Ford
dealers, were opened, with the Murray bid somewhat lower than the Liuskamp
bid. Inasmuch as parr of the difference was apparently due to deduction
of the federal tax in the one case, and no statement of terms on balance
indicated in the other, Councilman Gladden, seconded by Councilman Brown
moved that the matter be left up to Councilman Bennett to obtain further
details and make his recommendation. Motion carried.,
Councilman Brown, seconded by Councilman Bostwick, moved that the City take
up the X300.00 balance oil the school bus ,note, together with interest to
date. Motion carried by poll,, as follows:

Vanderboegh yes
In connection with the right -of -way ,matter in Hobbs Subd., it was further
brought out that in the R /TN deed given in 1934 by Mr. Dobbs, through an
error 4 entire lots instead of the south 25 feet thereof had been quit -
claimed to the City, and Councilman Gladden, seconded by Councilman Faust,
moved that Mr. Hobbs be contacted and offered the return of those lots,
less the south 25 feet, and ask that he deed the necessary 60 feet from
Tracts 1 and 2 for the R/611 to connect S. 4th Rd. and S. 4th Ct , respectively
u with S. 2nd St. Motion carried, and it was agreed that Pres. Vanderboegh
and Councilman, Brown see Iilr. Hobbs on this matter.
Councilman Gladden reported that he had been told that H. W. Dorn wonted
$40.00 as rent for the season for the ball field, that Chief Wiegand had
stated $10.00 of this had already been pledged and asked whether the City,
would give the other p30.00. It was agreed that this would be a satis-
factory arrangement, and Councilman Brown seconded by Councilman Bostwick,
moved that the City sponsor the South Dade Baseball League to the extent
of :30.00 for the entire season. s.otion carried.
Insofar as the .,?A seviing room was concerned, Councilman Faust said "'he had
advised County Commissioner Paxson of the City's inability to continue its
sponsorship in the form of rent, and Pres. Vanderboegh reported that he had
sent a letter to Mr. Paxson, cons'irming this.
Mayor Glass reported that lie had gone to Key West in connection with the
