1941-03-04 MINUTES OF ADJOURNED MTG OF CITY COUNCILMINUTES OF THE ADJOURNED MEETING CF TIDE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY CF SOUTH MIAMI, HELD TUESDAY EVENING MARCH 49 A.D. 1941 AT THE CITY HALF, AT 6:00 P. M. The meeting was called to order by Pres. Vanderboegh, with Mayor Glass Councilmen Brown, Faust, Core, (who had previously been sworn in by Mayor Glass)Bostwick and Vanderboeghq and.Atty H. F. Ward present. President Vanderboegh, in accordance with the provisions of the Charter, thereupon made his appointment of standing committee chairmen, as follows: Streets R Parks A. B., Core Police H. P. Bennett Buildings J. M. Bostwick Fire W. W. Brown Sanitation T. J. Faust Finance Joseph ;Gladden Following a recommendation read by ;Mayor Glass, Councilman Gladden, seconded by Councilman Brown, moved that Sylva G.. Martin be retained as City Clerk for the next two years. Motion carried. Upon a further' recommendation of Mayor Glass, Councilman Brown, seconded by Councilman Bostwick, moved that all present City employees be retained for the next two years, and that they be continued at the present rate of pay for the time being. Motion carried. Councilman Brown, seconded by Councilman Bostwick, moved that Attyo W. G Ward of Stapp, Ward and Ward be retained as City Attorney under the same arrangement as heretofore. Motion carried. Councilman Gladden, seconded by Councilman Bostwick, moved that Mayor Glass be re- appointed City Judge on the same basis as in the preceding term. Motion carried.) Councilman Gladden,, seconded by Councilman Brown, moved that E. L. Thompson s be re- appointed associate Judge, on the same basis as outlined in the original appointment of January 7, 1941. Motion carried; Upon recommendation of Mayor Glass, Councilman - Bostwick, seconded by Councilman Brown, moved that a letter to be signed by the President of the Council be written, thanking all City employees for their loyal services and good work of the past two years. 'Motion carried.
