It "inutes of the re; -ular meuting of Decefaber 3 were ar:proved as read. Pres. Vanderboegh presented the written resignation of C. F. Foyle, whb regretted -that private business away from the City tirade it impossible to serve on the Cowicil. Councilman Bennett? seconded by Councilman Bostwick, moved that I.Tr. Foyle's resignation be accepted. Lotion carried. - Reports of standing .committees were as follows: Finance; Chairman Gladden reported the need for full time help in the Clerk:ts office, and Councilman Bennett seconded by Councilman Bostwick moved that Virginia Fleck be hired at 50.00 per month for full_timeI as of December 16. and checks issued to her with the regular pay roll. Following a discussion on the fcrthcommM , 'City elections Councilman Gladden seconded by Councilman Bostviick, moved that on Friday, January 10, 1941, . a meeting of citizens be held `at the Community Building, for the purpose of nominating candidates for Mayor and Council, and that notices be gotten out. lurotion carried, Councilman Bennett reported that the necessary funds for the Community Christmas tree had been raised Without having to ask ,the City fora donation and it was hoped that they would have a reserve in the bank toward next year's celebration, while the Welfare Party at the bakery had netted $102.50 to be used for the sewing room. The following bills Vere submitted for approval and pa,,•ment: A unic pal Finance Officers' Ass"n. 5.00 annual membership Coral .Gables Flower Shop 2.50 flowers for Trammell funeral' L & L Men's Shop 1 pr trousers for police Totaling 13.45 payable out of 'General Fund. = Councilman Gladden, seconded by Councilman_ Bostwick, moved that 'the bills be paid as ,read.
