AT THE CITY HALL AT 8.00 P.M.
The meeting was called to order by Pies. Vanderboegh w ith Mayor Glass and
Councilmen Gladden., Brown, Bostwick, Bennett, Core and Vanderboegh present
Pres.; Vanderboegh read the notice for the meeting which had been called
for the purpose of mecting with a committee from the South b:iami District
Chamber of Commerce to discuss means of financing a float in the Grange
Bowl Parade, and for no other business.
The Lamber of Commerce was represented by Pres. Fuchs, Secretary Sauls
and Yessrs. Dutcher and Yarborough, who were invited to sit around the
Council table, together with Der. Thompson of the Thompson Parade Co. and
take part in the discussion. 111r. Fuchs reported that at a meeting of
the Board of Directors of the Chamber of Commerce it w�,s :unanimously agreed,
that the expense of the float should be be borne jointly by the Chamber
and by the City, rather than tale up subscriptions. He also discussed the
possibility of getting money for publicity purposes such as this from the
County Commission when it can be shown how it is being spent. fir. Thompson
gave the group valuable suggestions on other possible publicity projects
and after a further discussion as to methods of financing the City's share,
=amounting to $125.00, motion was made by Councilman Brown, seconded by
- Councilman Bostwick, that all effort be made to make up the City's share
to finance the float. b1otion cal,ried.
There being no further business,, the meeting was adjourned in regular order
at approximately 9.45 P.M.
