The meeting was called to order by President Vanderboegh with L'ayor
Glass and all members of the Council and Atty. Ward present,.
Linutes'of the special meeting of July 30 were approved as read
Regular order of business was suspended to enable.I.'ayor Glass to present
Irs. Frances Callahan and Liss Bush of the .VPA, who discussed with the
Council the possibility of indexing the'City's minute books, the cash
outlay 'on the part of the City amounting to apl .,roximately $94.00. P„rs.
Callahan- pointed out that in view of the possibility of a state -aide
project being set up for the indexing of charters and ordinances, no
fiC;ures cculd be given at this time on than work.. Inasmuch as the new
butic,et had already been adopted, with no , rovisioai, for such projects,
and tP_e need for the indexing of the charter and ordinances greater,
Council -man Brolvn, seconded by Counci aman Gladden, roved that the Council,
wait until the chatter and ordinances program could be arranged for and
- if at that time it is possible, include the indexing; of the minutes.
Motion. carried.
Regular business was resumed :yith the reading of a letter of thanks from
George Hiltvein on behalf of the troops, packs, and girl scouts for the
City's contributicn to their fishing trip on July 20.

from the City on property in the City's name, it was decided to hold
the natter up until it could be ascertained what the set backs on ad-
joining properties were
In a discussion. on a nrcposed ordinance to limit packa�.e liquor stores
to one per 39000 inhabitants Atty. lard pointed out that such ordinance'
should be regulatory and not monopolistic. -With the Council agreeing
that to opinion, desires and welfare of the general r.ublic should be
considered, Councilman Bennett, seconded by Councilman Brown moved that
Atty. 71ard run the entire problem down and report back at the next
meeting. Councilman Bryant questioned the cost of such a procedure
which Iitty. ,','ard stated viould be a.pprc ximately $10.00. The mot: un was'
carried.

The question of licensing insurance companies writing policies in South
14iami9 and out -of -town concerns soliciting and collec ixig for orders,
as yell as other occupational licenses that,miE -ht be levied, was
brought up and Atty. "Yard prc,mised to look into these posy, bii ties
for added revenue.
