The meeting eras called to order by Pres. Vanderboegh, with Mayor Glassy Councilmen Gladden, Thompson, BosfI'd:ck, Core, Bennett and ` Vanderboegh, and Atty. '.lard responding to roll call. Minutes of the adjourned meetinE of Janjary 9 were approved as read. Lists of properties in South I,iiami which had reverted to the state under the IVurphy Act were not yet available, as indicated by corres- pondence with the Tax Assessor's office, and no action could there- fore be taker_ at this time. . 2eports of standing - committees were as follows': Finance: O.K. Semi- annual audit started to- day. Sanitation: Absent. Fire:, : O.K. Councilman Thompson reported on a fire at the Alvin's place, 854 Sunset Drive wh #h had been gotten to in time to avoid serious damage. Police: O.K. "Streets & Parks: CbuncilmanCore presented a request for the use of the Community Bldg. on Sunday afternoon for Sunday school ser- vices of the Ngzarene Church. Attyo Ward ointed out that there is a question of the legal right of the City et any sectarian group have exclusive use of such a building, and after further discussion Councilman Thompson, seconded by Councilman Bostwick„ moved that the request be denied because it is for the use of public, property and cannot be given to the exclusive and restricted use ad any per- manent basis of time to any definite sectarian : group. I;:otion carried. Buildings: O.K. On the special committee for the proposed Skeet Clubp Councilman Bostwick reported that every time the Club had been about ready to function, the rock pit to be used for practice shooting filled up with water. Councilman Core, seconded by Councilman Gladden moved that Resolution ,;191 be read. Wotion carried.
