1932-08-16 MINUTES CITY COUNCIL MTGMinutes of the regular meeting of the City council of the city of South iuiami,
Florida, at City Hall, South Miami Fla., August, 16th, 1932, at 8, P. M.
The meeting was called to order by the aeesident there being present, R. J.
Lindley, president of the council,, and councilmen, Peacock, Burtashaw, Smith and Red.<
'The clerk read the minutes of the previous regular meeting, which were approved
as read.
There followed a discussion of the City Clerk to be appointed to succeed ). L.
Yarborough, whose resignation had been accepted to take effect August, 31st, 1932.
Nominations being in ?order councilman Burtashaw' nominated 1.1r. Al, L. Bridges, -
as the City Clerk, this nomination was seconded by councilman Red.
A motion was then made seconded and carried that nominations be closed. A veto was
taken on the nomination of Mr:. Bridges, and he was unanimously appointed as City Clerk.
The Clerk was 'instructed to notify Mr. Bridges to have his Bond prepared and in,
readiness by.,August 31st, 1932.
Qhe Olerk was then instructed by the h.ayor to engage &.certified auditor to
audit the City books, records and accounts from the time of the last audit up to August
31st, 1932.
A`- number of Bills were presented which upon motion of councilman Red seconded
by councilman Smith, which motion duly carried, were ordered passed to the next regular
meeting.
The council then discussed, the matter of appointing officers for the Special elect
Son to be held September 6th; >1932. After some discussion councilman Rod made motion
which vans seconded by councilman Smith, that J. C. gotger, J. R. dollar and R.C. 7(edemeyer
be appointed as inspectors and 214 J. Beaver be appointed as Clerk of the election.
A poll was taken on the above motion and motion carried uranimously.
Councilman Burtashaw then mado motion which was seconded. by councilman Feacodk
that the clerk be instructed to prepare booths, Ballets taW rAku, all neccessary arrAneer,.ents
