1932-07-07 MINUTES CITY COUNCIL MTGNiantes of ad ourned meeting ng of the City council ,at City Hall. South Miami, Fla. July 7th, 1932, at 8''P.M. _ The meeting was called to order by the president, there being present R. J. Lindley President of the Coubeil. and councilmen Angerman,;Red, Smith and Burtashaw. The council immediately began discussion of a budget for the fiscal year bey ginning July let, 1932, and ending June 30th, 1933. Each item of the proposed budget was discussed at length and upon motion of councilman Red, seconded by councilman Anger men which motion carried unanimously the president was requested to appoint a committee to incorporate into an Ordinance the proposed budget as agreed upon and to present same at the next regular meeting. Also to instruct the clerk to post notice of public hearing on the proposed budget such 'hearing to be held At the next` regular meeting. President Lindley then appointed Dar. L. Red and DLr. oohn Smith to serve on nth this committee. The Clerk then presented ordinance No.61. for its! second reading The ordinance was, read by councilman Red; and several amendments were proposed to be incorporated in 'the ordinance at its third and final reading. The caption of ordinance 0.61 is as follows;; = Ordinanon NO.61 An ordinance providing for the subdivision of a part of parts of the territor- sal limits of the City of South Winmi, ilorida, into zones; defining them as fire zones and residential zones and prescribing thekind of material to be used in buildings p ng to be � erected in said fire zones and prohibiting builds of houses in residential zones of less than prescribed value. and providing for the granting of permits for the erec Ling Pad rereiring buildings therein; and for the moving of buildings into said zones prohibitingnthe erection of sheetiron buildings in said zones, or the moving ;ot suoh buildings into the came, declariiv; the sidewalks to be City property and forbidding the placing of signs, porches, porticoes or balconies on or over sidewalks without perm- mission, and prescribing penalties for violating the provisions of this ordinance.
