Minutes of adjourned regulax meeting of-, the City Counci'1 of the City of South " ami
Florida., at City 1iall,4une 9th, 193' at 8 P.1.;.
Present were R. J-. Lindley president of the Council, and councilmen Red, Smith,.
Shelley. and Peacock and Burta:shaw.
The Clerk thm read the minutes of the meeting held l;ay 17th, 193x, and the min-
utes of the Special called meeting held Yay 25th, 1932: After some discuss✓ these min -
utes_were approved as read.
The Clerk then presented a petition -from the South Eiani chamber of Commerce,
regarding occupational taxes, After much discussion the petition was ordered filed and
the President of the Council appointed asoa committee Mr Shelley, and Mr Peacock who
were instructed to investigate the occupational "Pax ordinance with a view to lowering
the schedule of same and to report their findings; at the next regular meeting.

The Clerk then presented bill from Ilerschell N. Everett for nersonal liability insurance
on garbage truck and Police car. The rate of insu nmee on these policies being consider-
able Nigher than they vzere before the ()lerk, was instructed to Investigate the matter
and report at the neat regular meeting..
He Council then discussed a communication from the American TaFrance f Foamite Indus-
tries Co of Elmira Idew York, also a letter from :'r. 0. 0. Sulliva.ii, their attorney
relating to payinents of notes Past due acid, mat .•ing shortly on fire fighting apparatus
purchased from the saiu omnany.

An Ordinance amenling ordinance Igo. 9 the same being "An ordinance relating to
end regulating the moving of buildings upon the streets, avenued and alleys of the d'x
of South ,..iami, and providing penalties thr the violation thereof.
Councilman Red then made a motion which was seconded by councilman. Burtashaw that
Ordinance Hlo.4 be adopted as recd. The cleric polled the vote and the motion carried
unanimously.
Councilman Shelly then made motion which was seconded by councilman iced that
Ordinance Igo. .5-_S be read by sections for its final reading. This motion carried where-
upon President Lindley read the ordinance by sections the Caption of which is as folloz7s

dinance providing for and regulating the registration of all parsons, firms and corpora-
tions engaged in a. business profession or occupation in the To im z , l�
the license taxes for the year beginning; April 1st;, 19'-8, and for each succeedinE- year
until repealed; regulating and restricting licenses :snplied for after April 1st, of every
year; providing terms under which such licenses may be obtained; regulating the carrying
on of business under such license; and providing apenalty for the violation of the or-
dinance.
Councilman Shelley then made motion which via., seconded by councilman Red that Or-

Be it resolved by the council of the Oity of South ,Iiv:.i Floride;, that the City
Clerk of said City be and is hereby authorized and directed to open the �,ity re str Hoax
Books for the ret,istration of citizens of slid Cit,, who desire to vote in the election
to be held on July 1st, :19u , to determine whether or not the ordinance contracting the
City Limits shall be approved or disapproved and to keer s *rid books oven during all bus-

And that he be authorized to shoe on the re( istration book payments of all poll tax Xs
