1932-05-25 MINUTES CITY COUNCIL MTGq c1 Minutes of Special called meeting of the City Council of The City of South Miami Florida at City Hall, :.South triami, May 25th, at S P.M. Purpose of Meeting' To consider and 'act upon the application of W. 'H. Angerman f p pp or permission to move a house from Dorn Street, to Sunset Road in South 111aani, to consider and 'amend Ordinance „ No 9.. to 'consider and pass amendments to Ordinance No 8 , or to repeal same, to repeal Ordinance No 22 , to pass to third reading Ordinance providing for election in the elim- ination of outlying sections in the City limits, for the advertising of 1930 delinquenjr payment, providing ym ninety days, tax list and for a ent of 193 taxes rovidin for na ent of same within to elect a councilman to succeed Harry Mouser resigned and to transact such other bus- iness ,as may lavifully come before such meeting a Eleeting was called to order by the president there being present R. J. Lindley, President of the council a_nd councilmen Angermail, Burtashaw, Smith,and Red. Councilmen Smith made motion that Yr. Geo. Peacock be appointed: to fill the unexpired = term of ;.'.r. Harry, Houser resigned, as cou ci lmmi. This motion was seconded by councilman Burta.shaw and carried urwilmously. 1r. Peacock being present, he was sworn in by I,',ayor. Foster and immediately took his place at the council table. Then followed a lengthy did.cussion of city ordinances relating to house moving. after which councilman iced, upon motion duly made and seconded and carried presented and read Ordinance 2.o. -2 for its first reading, the caption of which ordinance is as j follows; Ordinance No. An Ordinance amending ordinance 210 9 the same being " An ordinance relating to and regulating the moving of buildings upon the streets, and avenues and alleys of the Town of South Lrismi, and providing penalties for the violation thereof.^ a,4 11r, Red then made motion which: was seconded by 114r. Red CII Ordinance No. ---b o= An Ordinance repealing Ordinance No. 22 the caption of which is as follows;';' An Ordinance providing for additional fire limits to be known as zone _ 5 and to amend zone, 2 as defined in Ordinance Nos Section 1. And to act as apPendix to Ordinance IIo. 8 as approved and adopted by the `2ovnl. Council of the Town of South i, ifarni and repealing; in its entirety Ordinance No._ 18. Councilman Angerman then made motion which'wa8 seconded by councilman Peacock, that Ordinance Teo. _L be read by caption only for its second reading. This motion carried whereupon the ordinance was read by President Lindley for its second reading. Mr. Red then made mot ion which was seconded by lir. Smith, that Ordinance No. 55 - be read by sections for its third and final reading . This motion carried whereupon the Clerk read Ordinance No. 55 for its third reading the caption of which ordinance is as follows; Ordinance 'I1o. 55 An ordinance declaring that the council of the City of ,South ?.iami, Florida, a municipal corporation under the laws of the Stage of Florida, ;desires to contract the territorial, limits of said City as they now exist, defining the territory sought to be excluded from the present 'Iity 'limits, and providing for the submission of this ordinance - to a vote of the registered voters of said City for approval or disapproval.
