Present were R. J Lindley president of the Council, and councilmen,, Red, Smith,
Shelley and Burtashaw.
The meeting was called to order by the President who ealle d on councilman Red 9.
for a report regarding the status of the tax situation of the 1930 and 31, taxes. fir Red
stated that as yet he had nothing definite to report from Ex. Sullivan; who had been r66

Councilman Shelley then made a motion which was seconded by councilman Red,
that a committee of two be appointed to draft an ordinance to eliminate the outlying
territory of the City. This motion - carried unanimously. President Lindley then appointed
Councilmen Shelley and Red on this committee.
Councilman Red then presented and read the following resolution;

Mr. President,
In as much as the City of South HSiarrd Florida, was not operating as
a municipal government for and during the period intervening; between the dates of August.

Councilman Red then made motion which was seconders by councilman Burtashaw,

President.
President Lindley then read the resignation of councilman Marry Houser, where-
upon councilman Shelley made motion which was seconded by councilman Burtashaw, that resit
nation be accepted. Motion carried.
a The application of William Earry Smith, for police offices was read and upon mo-
tion duly made seconded and carried was ordered filed.
Upon motion of Councilman Burtashaw, seconded by councilman Shelley, the Clerk,
was instructed to buy license tags for City police car, garbage truck end fire truck.
aA poll was taken on above motion and carried unanimously.
Councilman Shelley then made motion which ^,eras seconded by councilman Burta-
show, that a committee be appointed to engage 14r. Jno. C. Sullivan to defend the City in
the pending tax suit. Eotion carried, whereupon President Lindley appointed Councilman Red
and Eurtashaw on this committee.
There being no furthur business the council adjourned in'the regular form.
