Minutes of regular meeting of the City Council at City Hall South Miami, Fla. July °
7th, 1931, at '8 P. M.
Present were R J. Lindley president of the Council, and councilmen, Angerman,
Burtashaw, Red, Shelley, Lindley and Houser.
Meeting called to order by the president, after which minutes of,meetngs held
since last regular session were read and approved.
A motion by councilman Shelley, seconded by councilman;Burtashaw, that the date
of special election "be changed from August 11th, to August 10th, 'because certified
copy of House Bill Ho. 136 x, shows that it was passed on June 26th, instead of June 27
1931, as at first reported by Secretary of State, was carried unanimously.
Upon motion duly made seconded and carried, Ordinance No._Mk,_ the Caption of which

An ordinance of the City council, of the City of South Miami, Fla. authorizing said
City to compromise, cancel, and/or extinguish, Tai sale certificates, held by the O'ity
for the years, 1926, 1927, 1928, and 1929, upon payment in full of all subsequent taxes

A motion was made and seconded that Ordinance No. Wbe adopted. Motion carried.
The following bills were introduced, and after examination, a poll was taken and
the poll being unanimous they were ordered paid,

The bill of the Florida Power and Light Co. in amount of 208.43 was passed without
the council taking any action.
Upon motion duly made seconded and carried, correction plat filed by Mr A. E
Morrison, relating to Cole Villa, was accepted and filed.
A motion was made by councilman Houser, seconded by councilman Shelley, that
plat filed by Mr. R. W. Dorn, returning to acerage, the property known as Commercial
Larkins, in section 25, township 54, range 40, be accepted and filed.

The Clerk was then instructed, that the return of commercial Larkins to acerage
would not take effect,, until the 1932, 'tax roll was made up
Mr. A. Sebm eker of the Homestead" Enterprise, being present he was requested to
present a► written agreement regarding price of publication of delinquent te=es of 1930
tax roll;, at the ne =t meting of the council.

Ere Red then read a letter from the American LaFrance Fire ;Engine Co. regarding
note due them, in which letter they stated that they were willing to grant an extension
on note due Chem upon condition that the interest was paid to date.
Upon motion duly made seconded and carried, council adjourned to meet again July,
14th, 1931._
