Present were, R• J. Lindley, President of the council, and councilmen, Anger..
men, Houser, Smith, Burtasbaw, Red and Shelley.,
Meeting called to order by the president, whereupon, the Minutes of the —
meet-ings held upon the following dates, were read and approved, to wit;
Regular meeting May 19th, 1931, Special called meeting May 20, 1931, Adjourned
meeting May 23 1931, Adjourned meet , , journed,meeting .May 26, 1931,

Upon motion of councilman Red seconded by councilman Shelley, the Clerk was
Instructed to pay the following bills, as follows;
Jesse led Gas and Oil for 'San. and Police Dept @, 31e65'
J• Bruce Hayden; Supplies for Police dept. 1.50
Herachell H. Inrerett Clerks Bond and Ins. on Pole car and San. Track 69.96' rP
Purvis Ring and Mahoney Audit 35.00
Consolidated Marc* Co. Supplies for Fire Dept. 4040
Florida Power and Light Co -- Clerk was ordered to pay street lighting bill of 208.4E
for month of April, month of May bill, to be taken up at next regular meeting of council
A poll of the above motion was made and carried unanimously,
Upon motion of oouncilman Burtashav, seconded byn councilman Rouser, Bill for #4 .�-
1000 from Robert Dorn for .repairs to white way light, was ordered referred to street
comaissioner.
Councilman Red then made a motion seconded by councilman Angerman, that Clerk
be instructed to drw check for $9966 in favor of Patty cash accounts We motion
was polled a d carried unanimously.
After some discussion, Counciimn Sm! „h, as Sanitary Commissioner, was asked to
mare arrangements with driver of Sanitary Track, to haul old autos from in back of
the Star Service Stations
Upon motion of Councilmen Red, seconded by councilman Mouser, Ordinance We,r
was ordered reed for first time. This motion was carried unanimously, whereupon
President Lindley reed the complete ordinance the caption of which is as follows;

`' of the City of South Miami, Florida; Relating °;to License taxes and privileges;
Alter this reading 'Councilmen Red made a motion seconded by councilmen. ;Angerm�y
that Ordinance No. V be read second time by Caption only. This motion was carried
unani ously, whereupon Caption of Ordinance was reed by PresidentoLindleye
A motion was duly made and seconded and 'carried', Met the City Council 'tender
Its t'h to Attorney Donald 11. Nelson for his letters of appreciation to
Legislators, In regard to the City Tom Reduction Bill.
A resolution from the Growers and 'Shippers of South Miami, delegating authority
to Attorney Nelson, to represent them at a meeting of the 'Railroad Coemission,
to be held in Tailabassee, in regard "to :a depot agent in this City, was read and ordered
filed.
Upon motion duly made amd seconded; Clerk was instructed to purchase such
supplies for 'his Office as are needed. Motion unaaimouslye

Motion by Councilman Red seconded by Burtsshaw, that fire conmissioner`be asked to
procure bids on cost of drilling two sit inch wells for fire protection. motion -
carried unanimously.,
Upon motion of councilman Red, seconded byn coumcilmaa Homer, The City 'Clerk was
instructed to accept 'tax money for the ,years, 1926, 1927, 1928, and 1929, whsa
redeemed by the owner of the property only, or his agent, upon payment,, of thirty
three and one 'third ter cent, of lace value of certificate, predicated upon the payment

of the 1930 tax, for the period of .60 days, from this date. This motion carried unanim
Motion duly made seconded and carried, that City Attorney be instruoted to
prepare ordinance authorizing the Tax Collector, to.collect taxes for the years,
1926, 1927, 1928 and,1929 at Thirty -three and one third per cent of their face value
provided that 1930 taxes are paid in full.
