1928-03-20 MINUTES CITY COUNCIL MTGc ' \fie March 20, 1928'. Minutes of a regula � meeting of the City Council held 11arch 20, 1928, at 8 :00 P.1,.. at the City Iiall on Sunset Road. Councilman 11yers as Chairman ;protem called the meeting to order. Councilman Dorn was nominated and unanimously elected Vice - President r of the C aunci l and took the chair. Councilmen Sting and Paxson were absent. The minutes of the meeting of Yareh 6th, 1928, were read and aoprived. Chairman Barre of-the Committee to revise the sign ordinance stated that after a careful read- ing of the ordinance it was decided that no change was necessary. Councilman IWers and .Barre made and seconded a motion that the salary of the city officials be as follows, to -wit: City Clerk - X150.00 Mayor - - - 50.00 Chief of Police 135.00 and $lb.00 per month car a allowance_ r Truck.Driver - 20.00 per week The above mentioned s,alar,ys to tare effect April 1, 1928, This motion '= o was polled and carried unani`n._.sly. { A letter from the Chamber of Commerce of So. Miami was read the same relating to oiling and sanding streets that have been repaired. Councilmen 1vyers and Barrs made �1_nd seconded a motion that the clerk make arrangements to have the roads oiled and sanded as recommend- ed by Commissioner Barfield and that the Mayor Fc Clerk be authorized to sign notes of the city for not to exceed $1000.00 for lu0 days at 8� securing payment fox above mentioned work, and that the application of the oil aria sand be under the insoecti ,)n of Asst. Engineer 'deck. This motion was polled and carried unanimously. Councilmen Y4yers and Janes made and seconded a motion that a committee be appointed with Councilman Dorn as chairman to go over the City Engineers' account with reference to the amount due on preliminary work on the improvement projects that the city has started. This motion was carried unanimously and Vice -Pres. Dorn appointed Councilmen Mayer and Barre to work with him on this committee. _-Councilmen Barre and layer made and seconded a motion that a 50 gallon drum of disinfectant ue varc,lased from the City of :'iami for 1,;L. 60.
