1928-03-06 MINUTES CITY COUNCIL MTGr f March 6th,. 1928. - v Yinutes of the regular_ meeting of the (C-t, Council held lurch Pith, 19'3 at the City Hall at 8 :00 Pres,',d'ent `Paxs on called the meeting, to order. All councilmen were present. The minutes of the council meeting of Febr..ary 21,' 1928 were read and ao ,)roved. The committeemen made no reports. Councilmen Dorn and Barrs made and seconded a motion that steps be taken to condemn the station and that the buj,7; ing- inspector 'send the notices to the proper authorities;, as required by our code. This ' motion carried unanimously. k Councilmen Dorn and Stang made and seconded a motion that the Clerk write the F.E.C. asking for crossings at Ludlum Rd. and on the north and south half section line of Section 36- 54 -40. Also that the i clerk write the City of Coral Gables as sing their aid in securing a widening of the plank R.R. exossing'at Red Road so that it willconform t to the width of tie road. This motion was unanimously carried. Councilmen hyers and 10ayer made and. seconded a motion that the bills as read and okayed by Councilman Dorn be paid. The motion was carried unanimously. Mr'. Shelley and Tt�,r. Parrish - representing the Chamber of Commerce asked the council to revise the Sign Ordinance in such a way that the local businessmen may-do more advertising, but suggested that certain rules and specificatsans should be laid down. Councilman Stang and Dorn made and seconded a motion that a committee be appointed to redraft our 'sign ordinance. This motion was carried unanimously. President Paxson appointed Councilmen Barrs and s Mayer on this com,trittee. Councilmen Barrs and Mayer made and seconded a motion that the clerk write County Commissioner Barfield biding ;him permission to erect a direction sign for the County Hospital. This motion was carried un- animously. Councilmen Dorn and Janes made and aecphWad a ,motion that the Chamber of Commerce be oermitted to erect three signs advertising the city under the direction as to location of Councilman Barrs.
