1928-02-07 MINUTES CITY COUNCIL MTGFebruary 7th, 192$. Arinutes of the Regular Meeting of the City Council, held Tues- day evening, Feorsary 7th, 1928, at 8 :00 P.A. in the City Hall. President Parson called the meeting to order. CouncilmenV Dorn and Stang were absent. = The Cle.rc read the minutes of the council meeting of January 17th, 1928 which was spproved as read. r Committeeman on Buildings, Barrs, reports that the Sanders Build- ing is unsafe. Committeeman on Sanitation Araye'r mentioned the work done by the = Sanitary Dept, on the Sunset R.R. crossing and suggested that it be oiled. R. G. Shelley, representing the South ATiami Chamber of Commerce asked that the city pay a portion of 'the expense of having the strip along the R. R.. betwee&; Sunset and Red Rd.. scarified. He was assured .; that if the R.R. Co;. would consent and the County Commission would r: furnish the necessary machinery that the city would cooperate. It was regularly moved, seconded and unanimously carried that the note for X730.00 and accrued interest due the America haFrance Fire Engine Co. be paid. Regularly moved, seconded and unanimously carried that the bills - as read oy the clerk' be paid, Councilman Barrs moved and Councilman Janes seconded a motion that P. Dowling be appointed special police officer at 0100.00 per month', effective 'Feb. `15, 1926 and that the services of E Huling,now' serving be dispensed with that date. hi motion carried unanimously. Councilmen, Myers and Janes made and seconded a motion that Attorney Sullivan be hai.d ";500,00 on account, provi -ding a four month extension can be arranged at the bank for the l.ote due Feb. 15,, 1928. This motion was unanimously carried. Councilmen Barrs and A4yers made and seconded a motion which un animously ;carried that the City Clerk's hours be from B to 11 A.A. and 2 to 5 P.
