Minutes of the, regular meeting of the 'City Council of
South Miami, held Tuesday evening January 17th, 19283, at 8:00 P. 1.
in the City Hall on Sunset Ro41.
President ?axson called the meeting to- ord,er. All councilmen
were 'present.
The clerk read the minutes °of the meetings of January 3rd and
10th, 1928, which were approved as read.
The clerk then read the bills as okayed by Finance Committeeman
Dorn. It was regularly moved, seconded and unanimously carried
that the bills as read be Daid.
The clerx then read Ord inance #40, word for word and section by,
section for its third reading, �the title of same being:
ORDINANCE NO;. 40.

AN ORDINANCE PROVIDING FOR THE ShGREGATION OF
MITE AND COLORED CITIZENS OF THE CITY OF SOUTH'
MIAMI, FLORIDA.
Councilmen 3v`1yers and Barrs moved and seconded a motion which
unanimously was carried that Ordinance #40 be adopted. This con-
stituted the third and final reading of this Ordinance.
Councilmen Janes and Barrs moved and seconded a motion which
was unanimously carried that A. D. Is;ayer be appointed as councilman
to serve out the unexpired term of R. L. Martin who resigned his
position as councilman.
Mayor W. A. Foster then administered the oath of .office to
Councilman A. D. iiayer. President Paxson then appointed Councilman
Mayer Commttteeman on Sanitation.
