1 Minutes of the regular .meeting of the City Council of South
Miami held October 4, 1927 in the City 'Hall on ,Sunset Road at
8 :00 P.M.. All councilmen Dresent.
Minutes. of- meetings of September 20th and 23rd were read and
ao roved.
The clerk was ordered to open and read bids as received on
G.ity Hall si -te.
Councilman Barrs moved and Councilman Doers seconded a motion
that a committee be appointed to investigate the submitted pro -
)ertie:s. Upon being put to vote the motion was carried. President
Paxson c aptiointea the entire council on this committee. /?!.
The clerk then read three applications for positions on the 11
police `force. It was regularly moved,, seconded and carried that
these application be filed by,the- clerk until some futureldate

RESOLUTION NO 32
RESOLiJTION DESIGNATING THE COCONUT GROVE BANK & TRUST
COMPANY AS DEPOSITORY OF THE CITY FUNDS OF THE CITY
OF SOUTH MIUT11, FLORIDA.
'NHEREAS, it has been made to, appear to the council that

designated, and the council deeming the same essential and
having determined that the Coconut Grove Bank A Trast Company
is the proper place for the depository of said funds, -
THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE A %rAYOR AND THE CITY
COUNCIL. OF THE CITY OF 'SOUTH MIAMI,
l THAT the Coconut Grove Bank & Trust Company be,
and the same is hereby designated the depository of the
cityy funds of the City of South Miami, Florida, and the
Mity Cleric is hereby authorized and directed to deposit +
promptly as the same are received all revenue and other
funds of the city coming into his hands in the said
Coconut Grove Bank R Trust Company.'

Councilman Dorn moved and Councilman Janes seconded e

motion that Resolution #32 be adopted. ';then the vote was polled
r the following was the result; Councilmen Stang, Dorn, Martin,
Janes and buyers voted yes; Councilman Barrs voted no. The vote
being five for and one against President Paxson declared Re
solution #2 regularly adopted.
It was regularly moved, seconded and carried that Asst.
Engineer Beck be instructed to estimate the amount of fill required,-d
in Cambridge Lawns. t :iii,
A claim for damages against the city for alleged damage to
an automopile by Officer Riner was referred to the City Attorney.
Ordinances Nos. 30 and 31 were then read word for word and
section by section. The titles of these ordinances are:

MIAMI.
Councilman Stang moved and Councilman M1rers seconded a motion
that Ordinance #30 be adopted. On polling the vote, Ordinance #30
was declared unanimously adopted by President Paxson.
Councilman Barrs,.moved and Councilman Yyers seconded a motion
that Ordinance #31 be adopted. On polling the vote, the following
was the result: G-ouncilmen Stang, Dorn and Martin voted No. Council -
men Janes, Barrs, Myers and Paxson voted Yes. The vote being 4 to 3_
in favor of adoption', President Paxson declared Ordinance #31 re-
gularly adopted.
The bills were read as oxayed and it was moved, seconded and
carried unanimously that they be paid.
