Continuation of the Regular keeting of the Council of the City
of South Miami of July 19 1926, adjourned to and held July 26th, 1927
at 8 :00 o1clock in the City Hall on 'Sunset Road.
The meeting was called to order by President of the Council
J. L. Paxson.
The clerk then called the roll and Councilman Stang was the only -
absentee.
Councilman Janes, Chairman of the Committee appointed t`,Z� visit the
various water systems in this district reported that the Coconut Grove
plant was an excellent example of a complete system and that they would
recommend the same type of plant for South Miami. a
The clerk then read Ordinances #27 and #28 and #29 for their
first readings. The titles of these ordinances are;

On a motion regularly moved, seconded and carried the clerk was
ordered to read Ordinances #27, #28 and #29 by title only, which was
done. This constituted the second reading of Ordinances #27, #28
and #29.
It was .regularly moved, seconded and carried that a committee
be appointed to investigate the purchase of a truck for the Sanitary
Dept. President Paxson a- opointed Councilmen Martin, layers and Barre
on this committee.

Councilman, Myers moved and Councilman Dorn seconded a motion
that Resolution #25 be passed and adopted.
The motion was put to vote and recorded by poll: Councilmen
Dorn, Janes, Martin and Myers voted yes; Councilman Barra voted no.
The vote being four for and one against, President Paxson declared
Resolution X25 duly passed and adopted.
3 The committee appointed to,.interview the Power Co. relative to
reduction of the rates in South Miami reported that we may be able
to arrive at a compromising figure between our present rate and that
of Coral Gables.
Regularly moved, seconded and carried that the clerk write
George Main, Hydraulic Engineer, and ask him to appear before the
council next Tuiisday night,, August 2nd, 1927.
Councilman Dorn moved and Councilman Barks seconded a motion
that the police officers receive $150.00 per montjX salary beginning
August 1, 1927, and that the X15.00 per month car allowance also

unanimously.
Councilman Barre moved and Councilman Janes seconded a motion
that the Mayor be paid a salary of x;100.00 per, month. This motion
carried unanimously on being put to vote.
