Minutes of a Special Neet:ng of the Town Council of the Town
of South Miami, Fla.,, held Friday evening, November 19th, at 8:00
P.N_.., i-n the Town Hall on Sunset Road pursuant -'to adjournment of
November ibth,, 1526.0
Keeting was called to order by the President or the. Council,
J. Paxson JP
The Clerk then called th:e roll acld the following mentioned
members answered to roll .call
J. Paxson, J. 'd Barrs, W. G. Stang, Jno. 1,yers,: J. S. Janes,
R. t, 1-Tartin and H V.I. Dorn.
The President then stated the meeting was held for the nur
pose of considering work to be done in Improvement District Number 2, ;
and other matters.,
The Council proceeded to take up the discussion of work to be :
done on certain streets and a motion was made by J. W. Barrs that
for the present time a' g

a five foot walx on both sides of b8th Ave. (Orange St.) from
Dixie Highway to b2nd St. (Sanset Rd.). ?notion was seconded by
W. G Stang and upon being put to vote was carried; all rvotes being
in the affirmative.
Question of walk on west side oJ.' b7 th Ave. ( Red, Road,) was then,
considered.
A motion was made by John Myers that for the present time
arrangements be made for construction of a 5 foot walk on west side
Of '57th Ave. (Red Road).
Notion was seconded b: Alderman R. 15. Martin and upon being
put.to vote was carried all votes being; _n the affirmative.
After a discussion of the Council with ,reference, t:, balance'
of walixs provided for in Res luti.on covering this improvement, a
motion was made oy Alderman J. W. Barrs that for the present time
arrangements be made for construction of rive foot wal:cs on all
str(,ets where six foot walks were stinu�ated in resolution. -
Yotion was seconded by Alderman J. 9. ,Janes and upon being voted
on was carried, all votes being "Aye,"'
A motion was then made by Alderman J. 77.: Barris that improvements
as vrovide'd for in Resolut;on for the following; mentioned streets be
held in abeyance for the present time;

Motion, was seconded by Alderman J. Janes and upon being
nut to vote wa- carried all votes being in the affirmative;.
Alderman H. 'N. ' Dorn then made a report of an interview wi.th „

the extension of the line to South �.:iami. Ile stated that if
sufficient funds cou-d be raised to help finance the construction of
the line., they vaou -d be glad to consider the proposition,

The Clerk: was instructed tp read t e Ordinance word for }word
and section by section. As each section of the Ordinance %-as read
it was approved by %he members of the Council.
A motion was made by Jno. ;hers and seconded by J. 'wi Sarrs
O that the Ordinance be read by ti_t' e only. Pf_otion was ),t --to vote
and carried, all votes being "Ayer% The Clerk then proceeded to
read Ordinance X19 by tithe. This rebresented the second reading
of said Ordinance.
Alderman J. 'X. Barrs asxed the Cleric to -,resent and read
Ordi nance , #20, title of which Ordinance is as follows

A motion was made by Alderman Stang that Jr'inance #20 be read'
by title only. :.'.otion was ; seconded by A'derman J. 3,. Janes and anon
being voted on was carr'ed, all "votes being in the affirmative.
The Clerk proceedel to read jrdi.na..ce #20 by title, t is re-
presenting the 2nd reading of said ordinance.
The Cleric then mead a petition presented by the Iroperty owners
of the western section of thy: Town of. Sot,;th ?viiami, Fla., asking that
some stops be taken at once by the Town Coun;il to Piave t.2e heavy
blasting at the Raleigh Granite Co. roc,: p, t in Section 26 discon-
tinued as 't was causing damage to _nronerty as well as disturbing
the recce of the community.
The Cleric teas instructe i by the Council to turn the net^ Lion over
