=' Minutes of a stated meeting of the Town Council of the Town.
of South itliami, Fla., held Monday evening, November 15th, 1926,
at 8 :00 P.11.. in the. Town Hall`8n Sunset Road for the purpose
of sitting as a board of Equalization 'to; hear complaints with re-
ference

Thetmeeting was called order J. L.'Paxson, President
of the' Council.
The Clerk then called the roll and found the following mention_
edmembers present: J. ,. Paxson, J. w. 'Barrs, J. B. Janes, Jno.
hYe'rs, R. L. Yar•tin and W. Go Stang.
Alderman 'H: W Dorn,' was absent.
President Paxson then announced the purpose of the meeting, and
asked for an expression from oroperty, owners on Sunset Road west of t
the F.R.C. Ry. and east of 9.7,1. 61st Ave., known as Bartashaw St.
Complaints were made by several property owners who objected to
having a ten foot walx constructed on both sides of Sunset Road.
Mr. Guy Reed requested that a 10 foot wal, be b.,ilt on the
south side W'� iiTset cRoad in front of h'is property and stated he
was sure the Schilling 'Corporation would want '10 foot wale. , in front
of their 'property.
After a general discussi:n of the subject, a �;otion was made
by Alderman Dyers that for the present time arrangements be made
for building a six foot walk on the north side. of Sunset Road from
the west line of Ami'e Barr`, Droperty to S. f. 61st Ave. and for
a ten foot walk on the south side, of Sunset Road from the west line
of Reilly, Stores % Paxson Sub. to the east line of Hobbs Sub.

The P esi,lent of the Council then asked for expression from

X. G. H. Shelley objected an e1ght foot walk and said he thought
five foot wal,,cs wou' d be wide enough,.
After a general discussion of the matter a motion was made by
Jno..`A;yers that for the present time arrangements be made with con-
tractor for the construction of 6 root walks on bott; sides of 3,anset
Road from the half section line or ,S.1,1,1. 6 wt Ave. to the west line
of the Im,,rovement District Number 2
N'otio`n was acconded by Alderman '11. G. Stang. Yotion was put to
vote and carried, all votes being in the affirmative.
The width of the walks to be built on Doan St. was t en consider-
ed and after a discussion motion was made by Jno. Myers and seconded

be built on Dorn St. Motion was out to vote and carried, all 'votes
being in the affirmative.

Red Road was then considered. Town tngineer Brundage reported he had
to men up with City Engineer of 'Coral Gables the question of width

After a d'iscus'sion of the matter by the Council, a .motion
was made by Alderman J. 19,�o Barrs that S foot walx be constructed
on west side of Red Road in accordance with Reso lution "
Notion was seconded by Alderman lr. G. Stang, and upon being U
put to vote was carried, all votes being in the affirmative.
A motion was then made by Alderman J. B. 'Janes that special
assessment roll for Imnroveme_at District :Number 2 be approved and
confirmed by the Town Council of the Town of S`oizth ?,Miami. Mo tion
was seconded by Alderman W. G. Stang.
Yotion was out to vote and vote taken by poll. A tally of the
votes showed five "Y—s" and no "'No it
The President f�� the Council, J. Paxson, thereupon declared
Special Assessment Roll for Imsrovement District Number -2 duly, >
approved and confirmed by the 'Town Council. of the Town of So-th
A':iami .
There being no further business to come oefore the board, a
,,} motion was made by Alderman Jno. Myers to adjourn.
Motion was seconded by Alderman J. 3. Janes and when put to
vote was carried, all votes being in t-e, affirmative.
