Minutes of the Regular Meeting, of the Town Council of the
Town of South 'Miami, Fla., held in the Town Hall on Suns -et Drive
Tuesday evening, Sept. 7th, 19`26, at' B-00 P.M.
Owing to the absence of the President of the Council m °,tine
was called to _order by the Town Clerk who proceeded to rcall the roll
and found fofl,owing members of the Council present: H. W. Dorn,.
J. W. Barrs , W. G. Stang, J. B. Janes, John ,41yers and R. L. Martin."
J. L. Paxson was absent.
It being necessary to se' ect a chairman for the meeting, 'ET. W. 0
Dorn made a motion that W. G. Stang act as chairman. motion was
seconded by J. B. Janes and upon being put to vote, was carried, all
votes being Aye. _
The Actin.- Chairman, W. G. Stang then called on the Clerk to
read the Minutes of the ;preceding regular meeting and they were
approved and accepted as read.
The question of having the crossing of Florida East Coast R.k;
Co. on Sunset Rd. widened and exiress loading platform mived was
taken up by the board and "a communication from V.P. & G.M. - H. N'. -
Rodenbaugh was read and placed on "file.
The Clerk then read i a communication from W. IA. Dowling Mer-
cantile Co. quoting prices and terms for garbage cans. After a dis-
cuscion of this matter by the members of the board it was dropped,
no action being taken. „
The Chairman'Vien called on the various committeemen for re-
ports. J,
A report was received from the Special Zoning Committee and

after a discussion of the subject by the members, Chairman Stang ;
instructed Engineer Brundage to formulate a basic plan for zoning
ordinance.
Police Commissioner Stang asked, for permission to discipline
police officers without waiting for eauneil meeting`.

"Resolved that W. G Stang, Police Commissioner, be given full
authority to suspend any officer for mf!lfeasance) o,r misconduct
while on duty.'
Yotion was Dut'to vote and carried, all votes; being in the
affirmative, =,
Motion was made by R. L. 'Martian and seconded by J. B. Janes that

Vote was taken and motion carried, all votes being Aye.
Committeeman J. B. .Janes reported need call renort for fire
,of
insurance comvanies and stated he wou3d take the matter up with Coral
Gables Dept. for nurpose0of getting' required information.
Committeeman J. TMf. 3arrs bro.;ht up the q.esti'on of gasoline pump
at curb at corner of Red Road and Hinson St. ,and after discussion by
the members of the board, P +r. W. G Stang, Chairman, instructed
Engineer Brundage to communicate with Coral Gables regarding curb dump
regulations,
